OBSCENITY – Interview with the band.

“Cold Blooded Murder” is for me, one of best albums on 2002 year in death metal music. OBSCENITY again destroy all around us. They are still brutal, fast and obscene. All brutal maniax must hear this stuff. You be satisfy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello bro! I see and I hear that OBSCENITY still have so fun. You are still obscene, you still brutal, and now you give us one of best albums this year in death metal music.

Hi , Mariusz. Nice to hear from you , again. And thanx for the interview and the compliment.

When I hear your new album first time, I think that this be most brutal and most fast your album. But I hear on this many melodic lines. Whereabouts you prospect when you compose this stuff?

You are right, it is the fastest and heavest album of us, and there are also a couple of melody lines on it. But this is our style to mix strong music with smooth melodies. It makes us different from other bands, and everybody recognizes us again.

But I must say you my bro, that “Cold Blooded Murder” is like homicide on faithless people. Only really maniac can hear this around he he.

OK. It s no music for the masses only for real metalheads but a few guys says , Obscenity`s music is for girls and I don`t know what they are talking about.

Your new album is continuum your previous albums, but now you play most technical. Whether this is only new idea on this album, or in the future you be try play much broken riffs?

Yes it continous the older stuff , but I think the new material is not more technical as the old one. We are now writing some new stuff in this moment but it is not our aim to change our style or play much more broken riffs. We play music from the heart and have no masterplan or a concept for the next CD. The first rule is: Let it flow!

OBSCENITY are band who play brutal music many years. You have your still. You are recognizable. No extravaganza is needed. I dont want changes anything? Am I right?

Yes . I answered it some questions ago. Maybe the sound will change ,but it won`t be softer. The music you hear on the next CD will be original Obscenity. We are experimenting with other guitar sounds and the mix will be more guitar-oriented!

Music like your need be playing live. Do you planed some tours in narest future? Maybe singular shows?

Yeah, right ! You can offer us some festivals or gigs in Poland for 2003. We have a couple of gigs in Germany and USA. But we are looking for a little summer tour in whole Europe.

I know that now you have some new drummer. Who is this, and why yours old drummer must leave OBSCENITY?

Our first drummer needed a little break because of some personal problems with his girl, and we had to cancel a tour with Sinister because of it. Some of us has been very angry and we decide him to leave Obscenity. So, Jens (guitar /left) knows a drummer of a Thrash Metal band in his hometown and asked him to join us. We had some rehearsals and he was in!

Is there any chance for a live album of yours? I think it wouldn't be a stupid thing to do as you're quite recognizable band everywhere.

Haha ! Good idea , but it`s not the thing for a Death Metal Band I think. So our label Morbid Rec. got the same opinion. Thats it.

I cant read you lirics to this album, but I think that now you style is most dark and most straight. About whats you write now?

But we have the lyrics on the inner sleeve. Why don`t you read it? It`s a mixture between horror /splatter /personal/social – lyrics. So allsome very different.

What the track entitled “Alien Hand Syndrome” deals with? I prospected about this, but Im not sure. Quite attention-grabbing one.

Its about a guy who has an illness which makes his hand gone mad. In the night he wakes up and his hand grabs his neck and tryes to kill him. And he had no chance to do something against it.

On this summer you come to Poland play one gig, but how we all know, this concert be canceled. Many bands feels cheat and be angry on this situation. How you think, they have right?

We had a long ride to Poland and it could have been the first concert there, but it was very ,very stormy and at the moment we had arrive the stage and the PA. had been build down .So we have been very disapointed by that. And we hope to play there by a second chance!

Whether is chance, that you soon back to Poland? I know that polish maniax be hungry yours music!

Thanx ,yeah and we are hungry by the polish fans , too. Especially by the polish girls, hahaha! If there is any chanc, we`ll come again and give you all our power and energy.

Your are still in Morbid Records? How much albums you recored yet for this label? You dont looking most big label with best promotion?

Yes we are. We have been recording 4 albums for Morbid Rec.and I think the promotional work could be better sometimes but it is ok. In our opinion these guys are no businessmen .We often wish them to spend more energy and more money in us , but it is all low budget.

OK. bro. Whats next?

We have some gigs for the future and we are writing new songs at this time. So it `s time to ride to our rehearsal room and create a new song for the next” audial killing”.
