WILDTIMES – Interview with Pat Savage

Pat, hi! What's up?

Hello, it´s cool I´ve just finished painting the walls in my rock´n´roll room. Now I just have to put up the guitars, it´s going to be a great room for inspiration.

Recently I heard about your band and my first question is for how long time has WILDTIMES existed?

WILDTIMES were formed in the summer of 1991. How did everything start? I woke up quite early with a fuckin´ hangover at my 3:rd cousins place, after a hard night of partying. As I was not happy with the band I was in (because of two fucked up brothers) I was trying to get together a new band. Krille who was sleeping in the room next door (the little brother of the cousins) was a drummer. So I got up on my shaky legs , knocked on his door and simply asked him if he would like to beat skins in a band together with me. I said that my brother could play bass and I knew that Krilles friend Marcus was a great guitarplayer, so Krille asked him and there we were. WILDTIMES were formed!!!

Describe your music?

Oh, it´s hard… it´s heavy and melodic with influences from the 70´s up until now.

What is your opinion about our swedish scene?

It´s great, we have many great band from our long land. An awsome festival that´s called Sweden Rock Festival, a couple of magazines …all about Hardrock.

WILDTIMES isn't that well known yet. But, has your band ever played live sometime?

Yes, we´ve done alot of shows. We´re wellknown around our own community.

Have your band released any demos or anything?

We have released quite a few. Check our homepage for a complete list.

Now, I heard that you will record a promo soon. Tell us all about it.

We´re gonna crawl into the studio in the beginning of 2003 and record as many songs as we can afford. Then we´re gonna look for a record deal or a distribution deal for a couple of months. If nothing happens we will release it ourselves, probably before the summer.

Pat, how would your dreamteam look like?

WILDTIMES are my dreamteam right now, but i guess that you mean a fantasyband. In that case I would like to be a member of KISS.

Your lyrics then, is it something that you consider?

I write about everyting, whatever pops up in my mind. As long as the the lyrics feel right for me, I go for it. I don´t give a shit what people think. There will always be people that like it and always some that don´t.

So, how about the future? Can we expect to still hear something from you guys, let's say about 10 years?

Absolutly …if we´re still alive!!!

You play guitar, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No, I´m the singer. I used to play guitar and sing, but since a couple of years ago I´ve been only making ugly noises with my mouth, ha ha ha… Why did i stop playing the guitar? I´m too lazy to practice…

Your inspiration then?

My inspiration are KISS, they are my alltime favorite band, I´m a huge KISSFAN.

One thing I just gotta tell you, is how nice you guys were. I mean, many demo bands don't even bother to answer a small e-mail you know. So, I really respect those that are nice and so on. Maybe, it's just WILDTIMES? Your opinion, Pat?

Well thank you very much. You´re very nice too, doing an interview with us and all. I guess that some bands don´t know that you can have a fuckin´attitude as a band …and still be nice.
