ANNIHILATOR RECRUITS “DRUM LEGEND” MIKE MANGINI

Annihilator drummer Randy Black is no longer working with the band. Despite having guaranteed the band that he would be performing on their up-coming new release, and being scheduled to record drum tracks in 5 weeks, last-minute “requests” made it impossible to continue a positive working relationship. However band-leader Jeff Waters always seems to make the best out of a gloomy situation: Drum “legend” Mike Mangini (Steve Vai, Annihilator: Set the World on Fire, Extreme) has just confirmed that he will be be the drummer on the new cd (due March/April 2004 – AFM Records) This will ensure the Annihilator release stays on schedule, as Mangini's “miracle-metal-drumming-work” will begin in a Boston studio in 6 weeks. Waters: “As most drummers know, Mike is one of the best in the business and it is an honor for me to work with a pro like him. He is going to help set a new standard for Annihilator and metal drumming. A tall order but one Mangini is eager to and able to achieve.” With respect to the new cd, Waters states: “Although the last 5 Annihilator studio cd's have all had some good material on them, I made a promise to myself and the new label that I will deliver something far beyond what I have been doing for the last 10 years. And I will.”
