MEGADETH OR MEGASOULFLY?

Former MEGADETH bassist Dave Ellefson has recorded the bass tracks for four songs on the forthcoming SOULFLY album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Roadrunner Records. Bobby Burns (ex-PRIMER 55) is expected to handle the bass duties on the remaining cuts. Other musicians slated to join main man Max Cavalera on the album include guitarist Marc Rizzo (ex-ILL NINO) and drummer Joe Nunez (STRIPPING THE PISTOL). Among the tracks set to appear on the effort are “The Prophecy” and “Defeated”, both of which were premiered during the band's recent appearance at the 7th Annual Memorial D-Low (Dana Wells) Show in Tempe, Arizona. In other news, Cavalera will be recording a track in Serbia in November with EYESBURN, a Serbian ska-metal band. Christina Newport, daughter of SOULFLY manager and Max's wife, Gloria Cavalera, is married to Bojan Stojanovic of Belgrade, Serbia. Christina is an employee of Oasis Management (SOULFLY's management company) as an assistant manager, and Bojan is the product manager for Universal Records, the Balkans division.
