Italy's LACUNA COIL have extended their deal with Century Media Records.
“In light of the excellent support throughout the years and because of the good relations with the worldwide Century Media Family, LACUNA COIL have decided to renew their record deal with the label,” the band said in an official statement. “We received many offers also from labels bigger than Century Media, but we feel that we've made the right decision. We have chosen to continue working in what is an ideal dimension for us, where our shared passion for music is combined with professionalism and mutual respect.”
Since the release of their highly acclaimed album “Comalies” (2002), LACUNA COIL's profile has gone up immensely worldwide. In the U.S., LACUNA COIL proved to be Century Media Records' most successful European artist in the company's 13-year history, with commercial radio airplay and consistently strong record sales no less 15 months after the CD's release.
Coinciding with LACUNA COIL's very successful Christmas tour with labelmates MOONSPELL, PASSENGER and POISONBLACK, the band's video for “Heaven's A Lie” was added to daytime rotation on MTV Italy. In addition, the clip was requested by the audience and is now being regularly broadcast during the show “MTV Select”, one of the highest-rated programmes on MTV Italy. In Germany, the video is being shown daily on VIVA and VIVAPlus in addition to the shows “Get The Clip” and “Rock/Alternative”, where it has regularly appeared since December.
While LACUNA COIL are already working on their as-yet-untitled follow-up to “Comalies”, a European re-release of their two out-of-print EPs, “Lacuna Coil” and “Halflife” featuring new artwork and bonus material is in the works for this summer.
