SACRED WARRIOR „Rebellion”
Sacred Warrior is an American band which is playing Heavy Metal in vein of Queensryche with some influences od speed/thrash school. Everything would be OK., if the band hadn't decided to write christian lirycs, or if you like, use „holy word”.
TZEFA „Feed me”
Tzefa means viper in hebrew and it is a fitting name for this band that consists of Oleg (vocals+guitar) Yuri (Drummer) Alex (Bass) Konstantin (Guitar) and Slava (Classical vocals+violin). They are a melodic thrash band that trys to incorporate classical vocals and violin into there sound.
THOU ART LORD „Dv8”
Aaaaarrrggghhh!!!! Thou Art Lord is one of the greatest greek black metal acts ever and their two first albums are cult. When I first listened to their debut “Eosforos” (with an amazing cover), I was amazed by their music.
THUNDER REIGNS „Evil One (1 track single promo)”
What can I say? Sometimes people should stick to the concept: less is more! It's too much lead crap with a sleazy style on top of the otherwise not bad Iron Maiden-like music. The lead guitarist seems to have a huge ego.
THY DISEASE „Cold Skin Obsession”
I will have to say I am not a huge fan of BLACK / DEATH METAL but I do have my moments and this disc is one of them. Never hearing of this band before and not knowing what I was in for kind of scared me at first but this is one of those disc's that I had to listen to more then once.
THY MAJESTIE „Hastings 1066”
Wow! On the first listen I was blown away. Epic power metal performed in an excellent manner with crystal clear production, mighty “Carmina Burana”-sque background choir signing, beautiful occasional female vocals and not so good male singer, hymnic melodies and multilayered arrangements.
TIAMAT „Clouds”
A true journey through mystic realms it's what Johan Edlund and co. make in this album.
TIME MACHINE „Reviviscence (Liber Secundus)”
Time Machine from Italy have been in metal business for 12 years now. So they have a huge fanbase in whole of Europe and they have given happiness to us with a few albums.
TOMORROW'S EVE „Mirror Of Creation”
From among thousand bands world-wide sometimes appears creature which by musical experiments runs out its music beyond conventional frames comprehended metal wide. It among other I think about progressive metal, which it also is representative by TOMORROW'S EVE.
TONKA „…This Present Darkness”
Metal Age prod. Is an underground label which realeases very interesting albums.
TORN „Dipnoi”
Torn is a very interesting band. First of all I have to mention the very nice package of their cd and the very good production.
TORTURE KILLER „For Maggots to Devour”
Torture Killer is a new band from Finland but it seems like they would like to be from USA. Death metal that will remind you bands like Six Feet Under and Obituary and this is by the time Torture Killer were a cover band to these bands some years ago.
TOTEM „Stories From The Grave”
Those of you out there that think that power metal and other genre are all there is you are all wrong. I have just listened to a brand new band that brings back a style of rock that has been pushed into the background for quite some time now and gives it a twist.
TRANSMETAL „El amor supremo (The Supreme Love)”
The most popular Metal band in Mexico, Transmetal started in 1987 playing a rather primitive brand of Death/trash, but evolving into the greatest metal force in Mexico, while touring the country, central and south America extensively; also alternating with bands like Sepultura, Deicide, Overkill, Slayer, Unleashed and others.
.
TRISTESSA „Hatework II”
Tristessa is a band that will satisfy all thrashers. They come from Greece and this is their second demo release since 1994 when they started the band.
RUNNING WILD „Live & DVD”
This is a disc of goodies from the German band that will live on with the test of time. The disc is a double sided disc.
RAFFERTY RULES „Name Your God”
Rafferty Rules is a Hardcore/Thrash metal crossover act from Athens Greece with a 10-track CD. The band claims to have been influenced by California punk metal, but there is more than a fair share of thrash metal influences in the guitar and bass riffs and drumming technique.
RAIN NOVELTY „This Star Was Born In Heaven”
Rain Novelty is not a typical metal band. They have decided to express their feelings with a kind of music that approaches gothic.
RAKOTH „Tiny Deaths”
This release is very, very difficult for reviewing, because it presents some weird music, not by any chance an easy listen, but, on the other hand shows undeniable musical talent and originality. The inlay of the promo disk says: AN ECLETIC, MIND SHIFTING JOURNEY INTO ANOTHER WORLD FROM A BAND COMMITED TO PUSHING BACK THE BOUNDARIES OF ART.
RAMPAGE „The Arrival”
Congratulation guys! Bands like Rampage from Canada are still here to remind us that heavy metal is still strong and the underground flames are still burning. Labels should get rid of all these nine days' wonder bands they have signed and search the underground for bands like Rampage.
RAVENDUSK „Shadowcast”
Another release from Metal Age productions. This time things are not so good.
REARVIEW „Enjoy”
Rearview is a band that cannot be described as a typical metal band and I do not know if metal is the appropriate word. They could be described as a nu metal band but with less power on its mucic.
RED HARVEST „Sick Transit Gloria Mundi”
It is kind of weird to see a video so amazing like AEP and then, listen the whole album and what you have listened before is not in the similar vein at all. That's what i felt when I listen the whole album.
RED WINE „Suenos Y Locura”
Three points higher for the beginning: 1) fantastic cover artwork made by J.P.Fournier (Greetings! And thanks for the EXECUTIONER tape, hehe…), who is responsible for the amazing cover artworks done for AVANTASIA, EDGUY and the mighty LONEWOLF. 2) Spanish vocal lines – I truly admire all that bands who sing in their native languages! 3) Great sound and production: album was mastered by his majesty Piet Sielck himself…
RELAYPSE „Demo”
First of all: they are young and Italian… doesn't say much, does it? Well, their demo sounds like a highly professional recording and the production is pretty close to the first Godsmack-album. What first stuck me was the great sound quality.
REQUIEM „The Arrival”
This CD was given to me in the form of a Cdr. so I am sorry to say that I cannot offer band member names.
RITUAL „Think Like A Mountain”
Ritual’s THINK LIKE A MOUNTAIN is a progressive rock creation from Inside Out Music. Interesting acoustic passages mix with fascinating keyboards and melodic Dream Theater styled vocals on the opening track ‘What Are You Waiting For’.
ROADKILL „Pyramid”
This cd was sent to me by a friend for review. Not knowing much about the band all I have to go on is the music and its presentation.
ROMISLOKUS „s/t”
Romislokus is a band out of Russia; an area not mentioned much in metal. But I have heard other bands from this country including Nordream, Specter, and various others.
RPWL „Stock”
The basic facts are that RPWL started out as a Pink Floyd tribute band back in 1997 and have since released GOD HAS FAILED (2000), TRYING TO KISS THE SUN (2002) and now STOCK (2003). There was also a pre-RPWL release titled VIOLET DISTRICT.
