ANGELCORPSE „The Inexorable”

I have to admit that when I heard the debut album of Angelcorpse – “Hammer of the Gods”, I wasn’t too pleased. Don’t get me wrong, it was an alright album, but it didn’t foretell what was going to happen in the future (IMO). Next album, had a talked about title “Exterminate”, just swept me off my feet. It had amazing brutal force, with first class death metal, which even the biggest (DM) bands would get jealuos of. You can hear that these men knew how to present music in the same way as it was in their heads. I seriously doubted them, that they wouldn’t be able to beat their number 2. Weird, becuase they did. Let’s start with the sound, because that’s the element that mostly changed. It is very heavy, and screechy, but also very selective. It basically has nothing to hold onto. The album is made up of 8 somewhat short songs, which are filled with anger and evil. I’m sure that you’ve read similair epitaph, but regarding this abum, they have their own rules.

People who heard “Exterminate” should know what I’m talking about. The level of aggression in this music beats all the other previous attempts. What else is there? Well, Angel Corpse was a pretty young band (I write ‘was’, because as we all know they don’t exist anymore), which worked out it’s own recognizable style based on the modern tempo songs, a la Morbid Angel and the solo characteristics of our own Palubicki, which kind of reminds me of Kerry Kings style. That somewhat original mixture gave us “The Inexorable”, a thunderous effect. The only small difference (to the last one), is that the songs on the last ablum are more catchy (if death metal can be catchy at all). I recommend this to any fan of brutal death metal. It has no weak parts, well maybe besides that it’s too short 🙂 This leaves us only to pray to the horned one, for the guys from Angel Corpse to reunite, and make more albums such as these!
