DEVOLVED „Technologies”

Devolved are at the cream of the Australian metal crop, bounded only by the buckling shores of this giant mass of barren land. Australia will have a lot of trouble keeping this particular metal band to themselves, for they have the power to take on the whole world, in a duel of metal brilliance. It's Devolved versus the metal world.

They play a unique and bludgeoning brand of technical death metal, the likes of which you haven't heard before. If you were to take Fear Factory when they first began and sent them in the direction of extremity with another guitarist, injected them with speed, killed their family, locked them in a laboratory, and added a damn good growler that doesn't fuck around with clean vocals. You may get an idea of what sort of sound these guys create. This is their debut slab, Technologies. A mean piece of metal that will toss you from one side of the room to the other and proceed to beat the snot out of you whilst you cry for more. Technologies is truly a masterpiece of extreme sonic brutality and a solid testament to themselves as a live act. The musicians responsible are worthy of worldwide respect. They glide together through chaotic time changes and the most awkward of rhythms with pure metal class. The production is also worth a word of praise. Devolved are not for the faint hearted though. Their recordings carry a warning label. A warning label that no other band has had the honour of being forced by the courts to include. It reads CAUTION: Persons suffering epilepsy should avoid this recording as it may induce a reaction?. That alone should spark your interest.

Words cannot express the greatness of this band and this album. Before long , Devolved will be a well known name in the metal realm. This album is nothing short spectacular, it gets a 10/10. Stand out tracks are: Distorted, Fallen Cities and Progress. Try and get your hands on the clip for Distorted as well.
