Well, the boy's of GODSMACK are back with another disc of metal for the masses. I received this CD as a promo so no set list at this time is available. These beantown bruisers have always been in the same boat as bands such as SOIL, and DISTURBED in my book but have always had the upperhand among the three. This is due to the fact that they are heavier and deliver more of a punch with there music. This disc is different in its own way but still more of the same. Where this disc is different is more in the song writing. Sully Erna has always been the main songwriter for the band but wanting to expand on his style of writing he brought in a CO writer for the disc and it shows with songs that are more deeper then on previous discs. Sully still sings with the attitude of old. Tony Rombola and Robbie Merrill proceed to beat you to shreds with a sound that is as rich and thick as on there other discs along with the help of new drummer Shannon Larkin who once was the skinnsman for the group UGLY KID JOE. The drum work on this disc is very good but you can tell there was a change if you listen close. Over all this is a good disc in the GODSMACK vain but just a little different then other discs. This is not a different in a good or a bad way just a little different. Still it is a very strong disc and should be very good to the boys in the band. This CD is well worth the but if you are a big fan of the band just expect to have to listen to it more then once to have it really grab you.
