CALLENISH CIRCLE „My Passion/Your Pain”
Sometimes you get lucky and come across a band that has been around forever and automatically put a smile on your face. That smile either comes from the fact that they have stayed true to music or they just plain kick your ass.
CANNIBAL CORPSE „Tomb of the Mutilated”
Cannibal Corpses' third outing, “Tomb of The Mutilated” is one of the best and most important albums in the American Death Metal scene, and in the world wide Death Metal scene in general.
.
CARCASS „Heartwork”
The first time I heard this album, I had no idea what to think of it. I was looking for something heavier than Guns N' Roses and Metallica, when I happened upon the “Heartwork” single on Claire Sturgess' Radio One Rock Show.
CARCASS „Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious”
Recently voted by the writers of Terrorizer as the most important album of the 1990's, “Necroticism…” still sounds as fresh today as it did when it was put on tape all those years ago. Right from the word go you can tell from the artwork that you're in for a gory ride.
CARNAL REDEMPTION „The Limits Of Persistence”
Carnal Redemption is a new underground band from Greece. They started playing in late 2000 and this is their first demo cd.
CARNIVORE „Carnivore”
Carnivore is a legend of heavy music. The band was formed in 1983 in NY by two ex-members of Fallout – Louis Batteaux and Peter Steele (yes THE Peter Steele).
CATHEDRAL „Seventh Rising”
Cathedral – Seventh Rising. What more can be said about Cathedral other then they are proudly carying the torch for the style of metal that was created by the Gods Black Sabbath.
CELESTIAL SEASON „Solar Lovers”
When you listen the first metal riff in this effort, you can sense the real feeling of doom in the music ambiance…..and then, that violins take part of it. Just beautiful!.
CHARNEL HOUSE „From Birth To Burial”
Next representative American scene from New York, maybe he is the last in this the issue. In the line to a review is waiting yet another band, but I must occupy music of CHARNEL HOUSE.
CHILDREN OF BODOM „Follow The Reaper”
Children of Bodom have recorded their best ablum in their career. The 10 tracks found on “Follow the Reaper” are an explosive mix of death & heavy metal.
CIRCLE OF DUST „Brainchild”
I proudly mention that the first time i listened this industrial metal group was in 1994-1995 in Headbanger's Latinamerica (who lived since 1993-1994 to 1998-1999, if my memory not fail). They show the video of the song 'telltale crime', a very cool video.
CLOSER THAN KIN „Dead Flowers For A Dying Lover”
And what have we got here? A hybrid of Integrity (not my favorites) and Ignite (they sure rock!). Even the vocals shift between these two styles and the two guys behind the mics do a great job here and it sure is emotional.
CLOSER THAN KIN „The Machineries of Breath”
“CTK are a punk-hardcore band from Boston”… doesn't say much, does it? Very diverse stuff here. I've written a review of an earlier recording made by this band and I described them as a “hybrid of Integrity and Ignite”.
CLOSTERKELLER „Compilation – Promo”
This is my first exposure to this Polish “atmospheric rock” band, and let me tell you that I was quite surprised. When I finished listening to this promotional compilation, I was surprised that I haven't heard of Clostekeller before.
CONQUEST „No Boundaries”
Conquest is a traditional heavy metal band from St. Louis Missouri who encompass quite a few influences into their distinct style.
CONTEMPT „Stormforce”
Contempt come from Denmark and this is their debut album from Diamond recs. , a label from Denmark too.
CRADLE OF FILTH „Damnation and a Day”
After I heard the new CoF was out I immediately tried to get my hands on it, hoping the music was as good as the cover looks, and I still don't regret buying it, for this album is the best ever produced by Dani Filth and his mates. It's better than dusk and her embrace, better than from the cradle to enslave and even cruelty and the beast, better than midian, and definitely better than those last two commercial releases.
CRADLE OF FILTH „Damnation And A Day”
After listening to the new C.O.F., I came up with 2 words to describe their latest offering, “Epic Masterpiece”. Having sighed to Sony before the start of the recording process, C.O.F.
CREMATORY „Believe”
Translated by: Motorbreath” rows=”20″ cols=”70″ class=”form”>Crematory once again proved that they are the best band on the gothic music scene. A few years back only Theather of Tragedy could stand up to them, but on ToT's newest album there's more electronic music than hard guitar riffs- simply you can't call ToT's music metal anymore.
CROSSOVER „Debaucher”
This Greek metal band had done a lot of impression in the underground scene with their demo “Over The Cross” and no long after its release they had the chance to sign to Dead Sun records and release their first album. I was expecting to listen to something better and more interesting and this is something that happens in the matter of music.
CRUSTACEAN „Insaniac”
Cold Blood Industries brings the world a new thrash/death crossover release by Crustacean with their release INSANIAC. This 12 song effort has shades of Bay Area thrash such as Vio-Lence mixed with slightly heavier vocals similar to what can be found on Death’s SYMBOLIC.
CRYSTAL CLEAR „Payback Time”
The only thing I can really say about this CD is have heard it all before. I really don't want to say anything bad about this disc but there is just nothing that grabs me here.
CURRICULUM MORTIS „Into Death – Demo”
Curriculum Mortis stands for the opposite of the circle of life: the cycle of death. I suppose Into Death is the first phase of this cycle.
BYATIS „In Dark Abysses of Memory”
Byatis is a death metal ensemble from France. They incorporate alot of prog rock in the guitar playing.
BRUTALITY „In Mourning”
When I first popped this cd in and it started, it actually scared the hell out of me. The music instantly kicked in with blast beat's right from the grave.
BRUTAL DELUXE „Mistah Kurtz… He Dead!”
I got very exited when this CD finally arrived. As a reviewer and part of the Metal Centre crew, I finally got contacted by a record company in order to get a promo! Wow!
.
BRAINDANCE „Redemption”
So some how oddly consisted, that this issue mastered teams from Great Apples. As yet are these only three material, but on so not large number of review in this to scene I can courageously affirm, that New Yorkers passed expansion on my zine! With difficulty is me univocally to specify, what also such exactly plays BRAINDANCE! Two persons Sebastian Elliott and Vora Vor with help of musicians from studio.
BLUT AUS NORD „The Mystical Beats Of Rebellion”
A third release from one of the frontrunners of the French Black Metal scene. The record contains 6 tracks all titled The Fall I to VI.
BLINDED COLONY „Divine”
Blinded Colony is a new Swedish band and, what a surprise, they are into melodic death metal like In Flames and Soilwork with more melodies in their music. Nothing special here but if you are a fun of this style you will like “Divine”.
BLESSED „Last Breath Before The Flesh”
Despite the fact that Blessed are from Sweden they seem to prefer the American death metal scene. Brutal death metal with grind parts influenced by bands such as Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation.
