MACABRE „Murder Metal”
After 15 in the deepest depths of the underground and after having had their sick records banned in several countries the US band Macabre has built up a serious cult status in the international Death Metal scene. The Dutch 'Hammerheart' label (currently operating under the name Karmageddon Media) gave them their first breakthrough by releasing their previous album 'Dahmer' world wide.
MAGUS BEAST/AGGRESSOR „Say Your Prayers”
I'm listening to a release called SAY YOUR PRAYERS from Aggressor (1996) Before The Dawn Of Early Man, The Magus Beast Ruled The Land the opening track Magus Beast is where the New York metal assault Magus Beast (known as Aggressor prior to 2003) derived their namesake. SAY YOUR PRAYERS is clearly a classic slab of metal, taking cues from Deadly Blessing ASCEND FROM THE CAULDRON (New Renaissance Records 80s metal classic), Metal Church and Overkill.
MAJESTY „Sword & Sorcery”
This band is from germany and insist on carrying the torch along side Man O War. What can be said about this band? They are new and as so many new bands aside from a select few have some growing to do.
MALOS TRAGOS „Autosuficiencia Denegada”
What can I say? It’s no good and it’s in Spanish! I don’t know why I’m supposed to review this one ‘cos it’s really not my thing and doesn’t fit in on this site. How about, really boring punk-influenced music without neither substance nor charm? I know I’m being naughty here but what the hell – this is crap! Imagine skilled musicians that play a mix of Die Toten Hosen (German commercialized punk rock), old Red Hot Chili Peppers tunes with a touch of Blondie… if this gives you a boner, feel free to read on!
.
MANES „Under Ein Blodraud Maane”
When I say pure cult black with symphonic keyboards most of you will shudder and scream: 'What The Fuck'? Those of you who have actually heard this record will know exactly what I am talking about. This is pure brooding, cold and hateful BM that incorporates keyboards to add extra chill instead of extra warmth.
MANIPULATED SLAVES „The Legendary Black Jade”
Now will be exotic about loam Japan one can to call exotic country. For me certainly that is so, because never there I was not and rather I will don't, so that any time there was planning to go, but I would not have nothing against such excursion.
MANOWAR „Fire & Blood – 2 DVD SET”
All Hail the Return of the Metal Kings with their 2 dvd set Fire & Blood. This is part 2 of Hell on Earth part 1 with a very special extra – a full concert of the Monsters of Rock in Brazil, South America.
MANOWAR „Kings of Metal”
I have to confess am not a die hard fan of MANOWAR, but if someday someone ask me for great classic heavy metal albums, this one will stay in that list (along with JUDAS PRIEST – British Steel, WASP – Wasp and (obviously) IRON MAIDEN – Piece of mind (or put whatever album here, Maiden rules!).
.
MANOWAR „The Triumph Of Steel”
Every band has it's better albums and worse. For some we can wait for years.
MANOWAR „Warriors Of The World”
The metal kings are back again. After several years without studioreleases they strong as always.
MATRIX „Thrice Upon A Time”
This disc took me back to my highschool days when the new wave of british heavy metal scene was hitting america. The band is a UK band and they are keeping the old sound alive.
MEATSHITS „Gorenography”
This will be one of the shortest reviews I have ever done. I have received 4 of the worst CD's I have ever heard and this is one of them.
MEDIEVAL POWER „Total Chaos”
Classic metal from Thessaloniki, Greece. This is what Medieval Power performs in their demo cd.
MEMORAIN „Digital Crimes”
If bands like this and Crystal Clear are all Greece has to offer the metal world then we we have nothing to look forward to. This band is in the same vain as Crystal Clear and the rest of the bands in this world that are doing nothing exciting for metal.
MERCURY RAIN „Dark Waters”
Mercury rain are a five piece epic metal band that hail from the UK Featuring Sonia Porzier (vox), Dion Smith (guitar), Rich Shillitoe(guitar), Jon Hoare (bass & synths), and Andy Pester (drums). For a self financed first CD release this CD should turn some heads. The vocal work done by Sonia Porzier has a very haunting sound to it.
MESS AGE „Self-Convicted”
Mess Age is the name of a death/thrash metal act out of Poland on Conquer Records. The vocal work is your standard spoken with a growl style, it fits the release perfectly, while the drumming and bass tracks keep the pace heavy.
METALLICA „St. Anger”
What the HELL was the boys thinking when they recorded this piece of crap. There is nothing worse when you are a metalhead then to see a band you once thought a lot of go straight to hell and they don't even know it.
METALLICA „St. Anger”
But NOT in the same way, St. Anger doesn't sounds like anything they ever released before.
MINDSCAPE „Dismantling Evolution”
A lot of energy here from this American band from Ohio. What first comes to my mind is Prong and Coroner.
MISANTHROPE „Libertine Humiliations”
Really great effort by this French guys. This band can be described as Avant Garde metal (or Sophisticated Metal hehehe).
MISERY INC. „Suicide Serenade”
I had not received a demo from a Finnish band for many time. Now, Misery Inc.
MNEMIC „Mechanical Spin Phenomena”
A lot has been said about Mnemic. There are those who can't stand to go anywhere near them because of their crimes against music and there are those, like me, who think they are one of the best things to come along in recent years.
.
MOB RULES „Hollowed Be Thy Name”
I have been looking forward to this disc since early in the year when I heard that the band had started recording. In my opinion this band is one of the top metal bands from Germany.
MONOLITH DEATHCULT, THE „The Apotheosis”
Dutch Death Metal Bands have been know in the past to dish out some heavy and brutal music in the past. One of the newcomers that want to keep that brutality flag waving is “The MONOLITH DEATHCULT”.
MOONLIGHT „Candra”
It starts with a song that mostly sounds like Stereo Mud meets Faith No More meets Korn with female vocals. Heavy, groovy …killer track.
MORDANT „What Time Can't Touch”
There are many people who support that underground is dead and has no good bands, things are done unprofessional etc. Yes, there are many bad things in the underground scene worldwide but there are also some groups that work hard in order to release something really good.
MORTICIAN „Darkest Day of Horror”
O.K., Now were should I start? There are so many things that spin through your head when your listening to such a terrifing, grinding, sledge-hammer Cd such as the new release from MORTICIAN.
.
MOURNING BELOVETH „The Sullen Sulcus”
This band is new to me but i was very interested in hearing what they had to offer after reading a little info on the band. this band is from Ireland and has been around since 1992 but never got there first demo out till 95 and since then have recorded two other CD's and this one being the second of the two and there most recent.
MUSTAN KUUN LAPSET „Suruntuoja”
I recently got this as a bonus with a major order of new CDs. I have not been familiar with the band previously and do not have a lot of background info at this time.
MUSTASCH „Above All”
It might be hard to get hold of this one outside Europe but it's worth trying. I promise you!
