MACABRE „Murder Metal”

After 15 in the deepest depths of the underground and after having had their sick records banned in several countries the US band Macabre has built up a serious cult status in the international Death Metal scene. The Dutch 'Hammerheart' label (currently operating under the name Karmageddon Media) gave them their first breakthrough by releasing their previous album 'Dahmer' world wide.

MAGUS BEAST/AGGRESSOR „Say Your Prayers”

I'm listening to a release called SAY YOUR PRAYERS from Aggressor (1996) Before The Dawn Of Early Man, The Magus Beast Ruled The Land the opening track Magus Beast is where the New York metal assault Magus Beast (known as Aggressor prior to 2003) derived their namesake. SAY YOUR PRAYERS is clearly a classic slab of metal, taking cues from Deadly Blessing ASCEND FROM THE CAULDRON (New Renaissance Records 80s metal classic), Metal Church and Overkill.

MALOS TRAGOS „Autosuficiencia Denegada”

What can I say? It’s no good and it’s in Spanish! I don’t know why I’m supposed to review this one ‘cos it’s really not my thing and doesn’t fit in on this site. How about, really boring punk-influenced music without neither substance nor charm? I know I’m being naughty here but what the hell – this is crap! Imagine skilled musicians that play a mix of Die Toten Hosen (German commercialized punk rock), old Red Hot Chili Peppers tunes with a touch of Blondie… if this gives you a boner, feel free to read on!
.

MANES „Under Ein Blodraud Maane”

When I say pure cult black with symphonic keyboards most of you will shudder and scream: 'What The Fuck'? Those of you who have actually heard this record will know exactly what I am talking about. This is pure brooding, cold and hateful BM that incorporates keyboards to add extra chill instead of extra warmth.

MANOWAR „Kings of Metal”

I have to confess am not a die hard fan of MANOWAR, but if someday someone ask me for great classic heavy metal albums, this one will stay in that list (along with JUDAS PRIEST – British Steel, WASP – Wasp and (obviously) IRON MAIDEN – Piece of mind (or put whatever album here, Maiden rules!).
