LUXT „American Beast”
Luxt are a five piece band from northern California that play a style that I have never heard before. They play a self-proclaimed “cyber voodoo rock”.
LACUNA COIL „Comalies”
Every once in a while, I find myself needing a break from listening to Extreme music. I think I have found the perfect remedy for that break.
LAKE OF TEARS „The Neonai”
Why 10? simple, Lake of Tears has what a lot of new bands of gothic-dark metal don't have. ORIGINALLITY!!! Simple as this, if you listen a song of Lake of tears, without knowing it, you can assure as hell that is LAKE OF TEARS! When I buy this album, was kind of weird, because i thought that they doesn't exist anymore (in their page claim to say that, back in 1998-1990, after “Forever autumn” album).
LAKE OF TEARS „The Neonai”
It is a pleasure to have in my hands a new release from the always entertaining Lake of Tears. The Neonai is another great offering from the swedes, but I have to say that after listening to it several times, it is still far away from their greatest opus, Headstones, which in my opinion will never be surpassed by the band.
LANDGUARD „Metamorphosis”
Pay attention here!!! We have a great upcoming band in front of us. After the very promising “A perpetual game” demo we had reviewed some months ago the band from Italy released a self-financed mCD called “Metamorphosis”.
LANDGUARD „A Perpetual Game”
Landguard is a progressive/power metal band from (where else?) Italy. This is their third demo which is a concept one with characters being the members of the band.
LEPROSY „Devorando suenos (Devouring Dreams)”
“Devorando suenos” is the latest (fourth overall) and finest effort from Mexican Trash Metallers Leprosy. Being one of the best known Mexican metal bands although a relatively new entity, they've managed to achieve cult status among metalheads in our country (Mexico) and in central America.
LIFE OF AGONY „River Runs Red”
When I first heard this band (at the same point I discovered Tool) I was impressed by the way heavy music could be combined with really emotional vocals. It was something new and fresh.
LIFE OF AGONY „River Runs Again – Live 2003 2CD”
Out from the depths of the New York heavy metal scene, Life Of Agony has once again risen. After finally disbanding in 1999, it would be three years before anyone would hear anything from the band.
LILITH „Live One”
It is my next meeting with LILITH. It is this time material from concert in D.
L.MINYGWAL „E'er”
If you are into typical heavy metal and you do not like strange things then this band is not for you. What I can hear is something like really weird black metal with some female vocals and then black metal screams.
LUGUBRUM „De Totem”
Well then, more than likely not many people in the good ole US of A will be very familiar with this name so a short introduction is in place. Lugubrum is one of Belgium's premier cult Black Metal acts.
LUNACY „Grey Silence”
These guys are obviously from Switzerland. SPV licensed this MCD from the Swiss label Witchhunt Records.
LUNATIC GODS „The Wilderness”
I like good music about morning, when round all sleep! Once brother told me about perception outside sensorial and just so I take „The Wilderness”. As outside sensorial travel Mr.
LUX OCCULTA „My Guardian Anger”
I can't say that I've waited for this album all year long with a calendar in my hand. Why? It's simple, LUX OCCULTA somehow never drew my attention.
KABBAL „Synthetically Revived”
Having never heard of KABBAL, I had no clue what I was about to hear. I actually hesitated pushing the play button when I put it in the Cd player.
KAMINARI „s/t”
Heavy fucking metal!!! Yeah!!! I had never heard of Kaminari and I did not know what to expect form them when I first listened to them. I will describe their music this way… let's say you want to have a heavy metal party full of beers, women and our favorite music.
KATAFALK „Storm Of The Horde”
Katafalk… I don't know. I cannot see the reason why bands like this are signed by labels.
KATAKLYSM „Shadows and Dust”
The Canadian band Kataklysm started in the grindcore/blast-scene, and so far, Kataklysm has managed to grow on each release. Therefor, this one just blasts everything away! This album is one of the best melodic death albums around.
KATATONIA „Last Fair Deal Gone Down”
There aren't many albums that can be described as “beautiful”, but this, Katatonia's fifth album proper deserves such a tag and much more. Having thoroughly enjoyed 1999's “Tonight's decision”, I was intrigued as to which direction they would take afterwards.
KIJU „Nothing To Play For”
Italy’s Kiju are playing self-described neothrash, so fundamentally it’s a new breed thrash or what could easily be bunched in with the nu-metal craze, mixing thrash and hardcore. In researching the CD, I read a few reviews relating Kiju to Korn.
KING DIAMOND „The Puppet Master”
The King of horror metal King Diamond is back with his latest release “The Puppet Master”. This has to be one of the scariest albums that I have ever heard in my entire life, and I have heard a lot of albums.
KINGDOM COME „The Best Of Kingdom Come/The Millennium Collection”
Kingdom Come's rise to glory was short-lived. After Lenny Wolf released two CDs with Stone Fury for MCA with guitarist Bruce Gowdy – also see Unruly Child – and various bassists and drummers, Lenny formed Kingdom Come with Danny Stag (lead guitar), Rick Steier (Rhythm Guitar), James Kottak (drums) and Johnny B.
KOVENANT, THE „S.E.T.I.”
When I heard the new Finntroll was out I was very excited, for I really liked their previous album Jaktens Tid. I can imagine you have never heard of this band from Finland, let me tell you something about it:
.
KREATOR „Live Kreation”
Live Kreation is easily one of the best concert releases from 2003 along with Symphony, Alive IV from Kiss, but Kreator and Kiss come from two different areas of the metal/hard rock history. Kreator, coming from the German thrash explosion of the early 80s fix better amongst Destruction and the live release Live Without Sense (1989).
KRUSHYA „s/t”
Thrash metal in Greece has a great tradition and there have been many great bands but unfortunately most of them were unlucky and nothing good happened. Krushya is a thrash metal band with Sepultura as main influence but there are also many other parts in their music which make obvious that they like other metal styles too.
HANDFUL OF HATE „Death From Above”
I have to start with the lay'out as really are something. It's very well done! This EP contains 2 tracks:
.
HATE „Cain's Way”
I can honest tell you all that I haven't heard anything about this band before. They got a lot of albums behind and everything.
HEADLINE „Voices Of Presence”
This is a disc that was givin to me by a friend as a promo so there was not any info on the band of any history of the band that came with it. At first this disc was a disapointment so I thought I would at least give it a couple more times to listen to it to see if It would grow on me.
HEADUP „s/t”
This is another two track demo from a UK band called HEADUP. the first song New Years Resolution starts out with one hell of a good guitar riff and the bottom end to back it up then the singer kicks in and just screws it up.
