HEAVENLY „Coming from the Sky”
Do any of you know Heavenly? Most of you will probably say no, and that sucks cause it's a really good band. If its not enough that the guys from the band play really well, they also sing very well, and the interesting part is that Piet Sielck (guitarist and vocalist of Iron Savior) and Kai Hansen (guitarist and vocalist of Gamma Ray) helped out in this album.
HEDON CRIES „Hate Into Grief”
Hedon Cries is a new band from Greece and “Hate Into Grief” is their debut album. The album contains 8 songs of death metal from witch other reminds of Dark Tranquility and others of My Dying Bride and Saturnus.
HEFEYSTOS „Psycho Cafe”
I have never heard this Polish band before and I have to admit that I don’t regret it that much. First of all I have to say that the vocals are awful.
HELLFIRE B.C. „Birth Of The Nuclear Age”
I did not know that Hellfire B.C. had signed to Sleaszy Rider records and when I saw the advertisement for their debut in a magazine I was pretty surprised! I have liked this band since their demo era.
HELLOWEEN „Rabbit Don't Come Easy”
Well, German metal maestros are back with a very good album, “Rabbit don´t come easy”, the tittle tries to capture the difficulty of making magic, not with a hat but with music. While at the start of the recording the magic didn´t seem to be with the band, (problems finding a healthy drummer, the departure of Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch, and the apparent lack of commitment from the rest of the them) in the end, the opening track “Just a Little Sign”, by far the best in the album, shows that Helloween are still one of the Top bands in the business.
HIDDEN „Spectral Magnitude”
Hidden is a mysterious doomy, death/black metal band. The reason why I said that they are mysterious is because they refuse to reveal any personal information regarding the members and origin of the band, so I don't know where they're from and who the band members are.
HOFFMAN, WOJCIECH „Drzewa”
This release is an all-instrumental disc from guitarist Wojciech Hoffmann who was recorded most of his work in the polish thrash/speed metal band Turbo. The work of Turbo is somewhat obscure, especially in North America (I've never heard it myself).
HOLY MARTYR „Hatred And Warlust”
Ha, I liked this release before listening to it, because of the sentence stated at the back cover: “Beware the Hollywood Metal! We don't support this kind of epic trend Metal!!! Death To False Defenders”. Actually I like debut release from the “Hollywood Metal Defenders” (RHAPSODY), as the “Legendary Tales” was very unique album at that time…
HORRIFIED „Deus Diabolus Inversus”
Do you remember the review of Septic Flesh? It ended with the words…the future belongs to the brave (which is a song of Septic Flesh from Ophidian Wheel album). So…we have the brave in front of us! Horrified just released their best album of theirs and one of the best albums by Greek metal bands ever.
HOUSEBREAKERS „My Hands On This World”
This is the debut demo of Housebreakers which recorded in 2001. The band is from Italy and they are into hard rock with classic metal influences.
VARIOUS ARTISTS „HUMANFLIES – Compilation”
This is an underground compilation which contains the best greek bands in crossover style. 11 groups that perform one song each.
HYBRID „Pain is Pleasure”
Hybrid is a pleasant surprise for thrashers! The band comes from Greece and in their demo they present us 5 songs with thrashy influences from bands like Metallica and Testament . They also achieve to have a personal sound which can be described as a modern one by the time they follow the rules of our times and they are not stucked in the past.
HYPNOTIC SCENERY „Deeper And Deeper”
This band is new to me and without knowing much about them other then they are from the Czech republic. The CD starts out with a simple opening then proceeds to jump into the first song which should grab your attention but does not.
HAMMERFALL „Crimson Thunder”
These guys are fabulous. They did it again, a great really fantastic album.
IN FLAMES „Reroute to Remain”
In my opinion IN FLAMES, Anders Friden, Jesper Stromblad, Peter Iwers, Bjorn Gelotte, and Daniel Svensson are the bast thing metal wise that Sweden has going for it right now. The new disc Reroute to Remain stay's true to the In Flames sound but yet it takes the listener on a new and different ride all together.
IMBRUE „Hybris”
I tried at least 6 time to like the latest release from IMBRUE, but there was no chance of that happening. I have heard a lot of bands that strike a nerve when I hear them for the first time, but this one hit a nerve that wanted the Cd stop immediately.
IMMEMORIAL „Monologue”
Be prepared to find your self-sitting in awe after your first taste of Poland's “IMMEMORIAL”. The riffs alone will have you staring at the walls, stunned at what is coming out of your speakers.
IMMOLATION „Dawn Of Possession”
Created in 1986 Immolation is one of the most known and interesting American death metal bands. Of course it wasn't always like that, and in the beginning they recorded a lot of demos, by doing that Immolation was very popular in the death metal underground scene.
IMMORTAL „At The Heart Of Winter”
This record takes a whole new approach to the art of musical warfare. Demonaz had to leave the band due to severe tendonitis in his arms, this is of course not really surprising if you consider the years of hyper speed riffing culminated in the release of the previous opus 'Blizzard Beasts'.
IMMORTAL „Battles In The North”
…and ride they do. The album opens with a mighty blow in the listener's face and never stops pummeling you into submission.
IMMORTAL „Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism”
Immortal is a band that you either love or hate. Some people love their consistent and unwavering support of the original raw, grim black metal sound.
IMPIETY „Kaos Kommand 696”
I suppose you have heard of Impiety. If not then you must think something about them if I tell you that on the lp version they have 2 covers of Sextrash and Blasphemy.
IMMORTAL „Pure Holocaust”
Immortal's sophomore full-length release 'Pure Holocaust' is considered to be the defining moment of the band. And not without good reason.
INFECTION CODE „Life Continuity Point”
This is strange stuff made by some crazy Italians that started spreading the disease back in 1999! They have had a great deal of success in Italy and in magazines and were even on some compilation with bands such as: Biohazard and Spineshank… not bad! I really enjoyed this chaotic disarray.
.
INFLICTION „The Faint Smell of Suicide”
A band that i never heard of…… Hmm…
I.N.R.I. „Hyper Bastard Breed”
4) They are from Netherlands and they play death metal so… they must be good!
.
JUDAS PRIEST „Painkiller”
I was reading a review of Metallica's „St.Anger” and hearing „Painkiller”. Suddenly I thought that those guys from Metallica have never climbed at „Painkiller” level.
INSIDIUS INFERNUS „Pale, Grieving Moon”
Insidius Infernus is a new Greek black metal band and this is the very first time I came across their name. Ok, from their cover I knew what I was about to listen to… Norwegian black metal.
INTO THE MOAT „Means By Which The End Is Justified”
This is a debut MCD by a band hailing from the Sunshine State and whose members are not old enough to drink under the stringent US regulations. Florida and young…where have we heard that before? Oh yeah.
IPSUM „Mystic Evilution”
The name of the band, Ipsum, is Latin, and since I'm thought Latin, I can analyse this name. I don't know if it is solid and reliable, but I'll try to get it as trustworthy as possible.
