FADING COLOURS „Black Horse”
This 12 track album is nothing over the top and after a couple of songs it gets really tiring. It's goth rock but I've heard it all before and I have to say that Sisters of Mercy do it way better! To be honest this album has got some good qualities but the over-all impression is poor.
FADING COLOURS „Time”
This is an album (?) full of remixes three songs: “Time”, “Spring” and “Lie”.To be honest it is quite enjoyable but a little too much. The band seems a little schizophrenic not settling for one different version of each track.
FALLEN WISDOM „Pleasure Turns To Pain”
This is a true underground release. These four Puerto Rican guys (Steph, the guitarist, is a chick!) deliver ten songs, one of which is recorded in two versions (one in Spanish).
FALL OF SERENITY „Grey Man's Requiem”
First of all, I have no idea which one as was released first of these two recordings I got here. But, here is it even more well done somehow…
FALL OF SERENITY „Smoldering of Doom”
I like the beginning here at the first track! Yeah, and the follow-up isn't bad. No, these guys know what they are into, I tell you that.
FARMAKON „A Warm Glimpse”
Well, this will make a nice stop gap until the next Opeth album. This is meant entirely as a compliment to Farmakon who manage to give Opeth a run for their money whilst at the same time, throwing in more moments of madness and acoustic interludes.
FATES PROPHECY „Eyes Of Truth”
One of the best brazilian's heavy metal band, Fates Prophecy, launches the album Eyes of Truth, undoubtely a great release of the year! Fates Prophecy has already participated in the Die Hard's project William Shakespeare's Hamlet and an excellent tribute album to Iron Maiden, Slave To The Power after releasing the first album Into the Mind, a classic 80's album which was revelation of that year.
.
FINNTROLL „Visor Om Slutet”
When I heard the new Finntroll was out I was very excited, for I really liked their previous album Jaktens Tid. I can imagine you have never heard of this band from Finland, let me tell you something about it:
.
FIREBALL MINISTRY „The Second Great Awakening”
When I first heard Fireball Ministry it was on MTV's 'You hear it First', and from that point on I was absolutely hooked on the band. I dare anyone of you to find a better rock and roll band in America than Fireball Ministry.
FIREWIND „Between Heaven and Hell”
This disc is very refreshing to hear being it is coming from the US and it is in the power metal vain. This band features Stephen Fredrick (ex Kenziner) on vocals.
FLAW „Through The Eyes”
Flawless… a good description of this CD. Formed in 1996 (Louisville, US) the band has come a long way with their music.
FLESHCRAWL „Made of Flesh”
Wow! is probably the first thing I said to myself when I heard the new release from Fleshcrawl. From the first track to the last, they brutalized me senses with unrelenting Death Metal.
FORGOTTEN TOMB „Songs To Leave”
Aaaggggrrrrhhhh…. Dreams go to realize!!! Lately by two weeks I went and I mused, that first-class would be to listen something pleasant!!! Somebody there high heard my requests and in this manner from distant Sweden I received the band straight from solar Italy….
FORLORN „Hybernation”
Forlorn is not a new band. Their previous releases were into Viking metal but now they seem to approach more symphonic paths.
FRAGILE VASTNESS „Excerpts”
5 open-minded metalheads gathered and with alittle help from some friends of theirs they released an amazing album. I am not fan of progressive and I am never gonna be.
FREEDOM CALL „Crystal Empire”
Once again, our west neighbors recorded a beautiful album. This time Freedom Call did it (Gamma Ray's Dan Zimmerman on the drums).
FROM BEYOND „Thrashin' Machine”
From Beyond, THRASHIN' MACHINE, bang it up hard and fast with thrash played the way it once was in the past with this 5 song, 20 minute and 11 second EP. With Tom Angelripper styled vocals and a guitarist who resembles Schmier of Destruction, THRASHIN' MACHINE is bound to wreck some necks.
FROM THE INSIDE „s/t, featuring Danny Vaughn”
Okay, to be honest, I have never been so busy with reviewing an album like that… That´s why it took a longer time.
FROST „Cursed Again”
Which is the most important black metal band? Which is the band that has influenced most of nowadays black metal bands? Right! Mayhem!!! So, Frost, who come from England, are into black metal with their only influence to be Mayhem. Their singer tries to sound like Attila with good results and generally this album is much alike the first albums of Mayhem.
EYES OF FIRE „Ashes to Embers”
I must admit my initial ignorance towards 'Eyes of Fire' upon the release of this full length. I was aware of it's potential and the 90% rave reviews it was receiving, but for some reason I forgot about it.
EDGUY „Mandrake”
Will these german guys ever stop amazing us?, I hope not, with their fifth album they show enough maturity to become one of the main bands in the overpopulated german metal scene.
.
ELEKTRIK „Mistress”
This is a cd that couldnt hold my attention very well. When listening to the vocals I heard Paul Stanley of early Kiss.
ELENIUM „Them Used Gods”
This is a very good demo cd from this finnish band. They follow the veins of Children of Bodom and they do it well.
EMBRACED „Amorous Anathema”
All of us have our very special and favorite CDs. They set our standards on how Metal should sound like.
THE END „Transfer Trachea Reverberations From Point: False Omniscient”
The End…I was sure I was missing something about them when I listened to their album! You need to be a little bit crazy to compose such technical and schizophrenic music. Oh yes!!! They are from Canada.
ENTER CHAOS „Dreamworker”
Dreamworker is Enter Chaos' debut, and I must say they did more than a fair job. But the album sounds not extremely interesting, and they didn't manage to impress me.
ERESIA „Moto Imperpetuo”
Eresia is a band from Italy that made their first appearance in metal scene back on 1995 as Suicide and one year later they changed their name to Eresia. “Moto Imperpetuo” is their second self-financed album and it has already received many positive feedback.
ESTUARY OF CALAMITY „The Sentencing”
Oh please God help me!!! These guys are from USA and they are really confused. They try to play melodic black metal but they have some parts where you think you listen to Hammerfall.
ETERNAL DEFORMITY „In the abyss of dreams…Furious memories”
The first I was thinking about really, when I listen on this album was, the guitarist! As usually, every band got 2 guitarists so I have to praise both P.Smyczek and A.Szymus. E.D.
ETERNAL DEFORMITY „The Serpent Design”
This Polish band is amazing. With intro this new album contains 10 tracks.
