Sacred Warrior is an American band which is playing Heavy Metal in vein of Queensryche with some influences od speed/thrash school. Everything would be OK., if the band hadn't decided to write christian lirycs, or if you like, use „holy word”. However, after few listenings you get used to it and verses like „You 've gotta want to be like Jesus” aren't iritating.

As for the songs. They are good eighties Heavy Metal killers played with almost infernal (or maybe heavenly) fire. Fast, with great guitar work and sometimes some nice keyboards. The vocalist's voice reminds sometimes Geoff Tate. The choruses are catchy and often contain shouting parts like in Iron Maiden's „Trooper”. And one of the best songs there is „He Died”. Forget about the lirycs, 'cause they are one of the worst on this album, but all, from the keys to beautiful vocalist's singing is perfect. It's kind of ballad and appears very good. Also nice guitars there!

Sumarising. The whole album is interesting, though that religious atmosphere can dread someone. But it contains everything what the good Heavy Metal album should. So apart of these lirycs everything's OK. It was their first album. I've heard that the second is better, but it is really difficult to find their records (I came across this cassette imported from Canada at the market where some guy had such rarities). Oh! The first song is called „Black Metal” but it's a bit misleading title. It's not Venom's cover. Heh. Just imagine christian band playing and singing things like: „Open the door, enter hell's core” 🙂
