„Here In After” was one of the most awaited albums in the history of death metal. Since the realese of their debutant album – „ Dawn Of Possesion” – five years have passed. But the wait was worth it. We can hear that the guys didn’t waste any time, and they created their own unique style. The stuff you’ll hear on „Here in After” is extremely brutal, and someone that’s not used to such twisted music might have some trouble listening to this record, because that music seems kind of chaotic. But as you listen to it more and more, you start to hear fantastic death metal compositions. All of that is interluded with sick guitar solos, which really get into a persons head. The aggression of this album isn’t based on speed (there’s a lof that too), nothing „fancy” with the voice or anything else, it’s simly based on a unknown structure, which gives the effect of total craziness and controled chaos. The sound of the album is pretty good, I think its better than in Immolation’s next album „Failures for Gods”. With „Here in After” Immolation created a style which they’re still playing, dirty, technical, and twisted to the edge of death metal.
Their music is brutal, noncomercial and raw. So I personally would recommend to stay away from their music if you’re looking for „peacefulness” and something that would make you feel relaxed, etc. But if we’re talking about extreme death metal fans, this is a must have. It’s one the best death metal albums realesed in the nineties.
