Cool Songs: Call To Arms, The Fight For Freedom, and Warriors Of The World United
After six long years of waiting Manowar has finally released “Warriors Of The World” upon us. Manowar has really taken their music to a new level of quality with this album. The production along with everything else on the CD is absolutely perfect.
Warriors Of The World starts out with a classic metal ballad entitled “Call To Arms”. This is the kind of track that will be stuck in your head for weeks on end. What comes next is an enduring tribute to all the victims of 9/11 called “The Fight For Freedom”. The song starts off with very light piano music playing along side Eric’s soft vocals, and then very quickly moves into the guitar heavy chorus that is the focal point of the entire track. The next five songs will lead you into a head-scratching uncertainty as to why Manowar decided to sequence songs in this way. This dramatically reduced my rating of the CD, and almost caused me to stop listing to it entirely. Thankfully the four remaining songs on “Warriors Of The World” thank god, are some of the heaviest songs that Manowar ever done. Fight Until We Die is the track that brings the album to a close with its heavy guitars and devastating vocal performance.
Warriors Of The World is a rather solid effort as far as I am concerned, but because of strange configuration of the songs I take caution in recommending it. My suggestion to you the listener is to borrow a copy from a friend and listen to it entirely first before you decided to go out, and spend the money to buy it.
