VALINOR „It is Night”
When i read the name of this band, Valinor, i almost swear that was another power metal band in Middle Earth. But it is not.
VANISHING POINT „Tangled in Dream”
I received this album some weeks ago, from a friend of mine that is involved in the progressive-power metal world. I don't consider myself a big follower of this style (I prefer Progressive rock bands), considering that many 'magna carta' (and similar labels) bands try to emulate Dream theater and classical progressive bands without a single trace of originality.
VARGSRIKET „Satanic Execution Commando Vargsriket”
At last the post office did not botch work and for second approach I received letter in wholes!!! And perhaps already then I would get this on what I waited, unfortunately with certainty some poor woman from stamping of letters scenting emiting destruction from letter with mark Osterreich and fell in panic and with primitive power knocked beat the shit out of with seal in plate VARGSRIKET!? Harm me turned out, when I drew out massacred the CD… however Grym is fine chap and spread once again the CD.
VARSO „The Eastern Fashion”
It all starts out with synthesizer sounds and a bass line that could be taken from Faith No More. The vocals sound a little like Mike Patton actually.
VERDICT „Reflections Of Pain”
On good day I thrust oneself Germen! Germen with characteristic names like: Baptista, Montkowski. And I must ascertain, that was not this such bad idea because a little improved me frame of mind after listened their death/thrash metal.
VINTERSORG „Visions from the Spiral Generator”
Upon first listen, Visions from the Spiral Generator may not seem as anything special or groundbreaking in the vast metal underground. Give the album multiple spins and it will grow on you, as it did for me.
VIRGIN STEELE „Life Among The Ruins”
Cool songs: Love Is Pain, Crown Of Thorns, Never Believed In Good-bye, Too Hot To Handle, Wild Fire Woman, Last Rose Of Summer
.
VIRGIN STEELE „Virgin Steele 1, 1981 & Guardians of the Flame, 1982”
Virgin Steele 1 (1981) and Guardians Of The Flame (1982) have become available for the first time on CD through Noise Records, making these rare releases from Virgin Steele, a New York City outfit, readily available to the metal masses. Guardians Of The Flame bleeds pure metal and it shows the essence of what classic 80s metal once stood for years ago! It's a pure classic, and it's great to have releases like this available on CD.
VIRUS „Carheart”
This was THE surprise of last year for me. Carheart is the debut recording for Virus, which in fact is the new project by Carl-Michael Eide's of 'Ved Buens Ende' fame.
VLE „Book Of Illusions: Chapter III”
Here next disc mysterious Mr. Vle.
