UNTIL DEATH OVERTAKES ME „Prelude To Monolith”
Until Death Overtakes Me (U.D.O.M.) is a band from Belgium and this is the very first time I meet them although they have 4 previous releases. It is actually an one-man's band.
ULTRASPANK „Progress”
All I can say is that there is a certain feeling this album brings. I guess contentment should be the best description of it.
UNHOLY LAND „The Fall of the Chosen Star”
Cool songs: arise the calyx of death, the eternal night of satan's dominion
.
UNMOORED „Kingdoms of greed”
I read a review of this album just after its release in late 2001 which compared it to some of Hypocrisy's faster material. This isn't far from the truth, but it's not paying Unmoored their full dues as overall, this is better than anything Hypocrisy has ever released.
UNSCARED „Hell is Now”
Unscared present a 22 minute and 10 second demo-recording of typical underground death/thrash metal. Basically, a simplistic mastering process hampers their music.
URGEHAL „Through thick fog till death”
Sometimes you have your hopes riding high while awaiting a new release only to have them collapse after one brief listen. Arma Cristi was a fantastic record, fresh, energetic and earnest.
SYMBOLIC IMMORTALITY „Decision is Power Remastered”
This is the first time that I have ever heard Symbolic Immunity, and I have to say that I am so glad that I got a chance to hear this album. This is simply an exquisite release, which will completely suck you in from begging to end with its raw power and emotion.
SALEM „Collective Demise”
Salem are a new band to me but not new to the scene. They have been around in one form ore another since 1985.
SATYRICON „Volcano”
Satyricon was among those bands that sort of created black metal, and now they signed for the Virgin label, trying to bring their music to the mass media. But be honest, what do they care about extreme metal? Nothing.
SCRAPPING FOETUS OFF THE WHEEL „Nail”
A bit of an older album but one of the greats in my opinion. If the odd and macabre are your fascination then run to the graveyard and dig up this cd! J.G.
