A classic and brutal release from one of the pioneer bands of Death Metal. Pestilence set the stage with some of heavy riffs to date. When I first heard the cd years ago, I was blown away from beginning to end with the aggressive vocals, brutal riffs and intense Drumming. I have been hooked ever since.
The Vocals are just vicious in their delivery. Some barked, but on the other hand, their not. All I know is that they fit the music perfectly. The Drums are some of the most brutal for their time. The snare sound is an ear opener in itself. Not a normal sound for Drums in a Death Metal band, which made them unique as soon as I heard them. A lot of blast beats, rolls and fills throughout. The low end Bass let the rest of the band push out their brutal riffs with ease. Not to hard to hear like in some Death Metal acts.
Guitar word is phenomenal. Heavy is the recipe mixed with lots of double picked riffs. Again, backed by the low end Bass to make for a punishing sound. I have a lot of old school death metal cds and tapes in my collection that are my favorites. Getting my hand on this release was awesome. It defiantly is one of the best for its time. Furious, Brutal as Hell, Heavy and just that damn good. I still find myself listening to it again and again.
