SPIRAL MADNESS „Death & Roll”

I am new to this band but if they continue to produce discs like this I will not be for long. I do not know much about this band other then the members and there stage names and they are Zephyr (vox & bass), Chmura (guitar), Viking ( guitar), and Dan (drums). The music on this CD is a mix of very heavy and doom. I have no idea as to how long these guys have been together but the music is very well done and played with great maturity. The dual guitar attack on this disc is very thick and played with great depth. when These two guys play they bring to mind the great master of heavy and doom Toni Iommi and BLACK SABBATH mixed with a small dose of old school METALLICA. Not the fast METALLICA mind you the slow crunchy end. Now for the vocal end of the CD. This is the part that impresses me. Zephyr's voice gives me chills up my spine. Mind you his voice is not what you might expect from a doom heavy CD. The only way I can describe him is a young Dee Snider from TWISTED SISTER. Now don't let that scare you in any way this is not TWISTED SISTER at all. It's just that I think Dee Snider is one of the best voices to ever come along in metal and I really think that the sound that Zephyr gives on this CD is nothing short of awesome. Any one out there that likes the heavy doom sound that BLACK SABBATH delivered on the album VOL4 and a splash of old school METALLICA with a straight forward clean vocal approach will love this CD. This is one that I will want to add to my collection ASAP for all I have is a copy. This CD gets a strong 9 out of 10.
