ZENITH „Nadir”

This disc is a demo that was released in 2001 by the band in attempt to land a record deal. Over all the disc is not bad but this band has a long way to go. Mainly they have to decide which direction to go in with there sound. There are elements here that I like and those that I just cant get into. It is like Listening to TYPE O NEGATIVE, PANTERA and DYING FETUS all wrapped into one with a little DREAM THEATER thrown into the mix. I can also hear a little old school BLACK SABBATH in here but with all these different styles put together it is just a horrible mix. Musically the CD does not need mush other then a good mix and production job which is hard for most new bands to get due to lack of money. I do think that in time as they can afford it the sound will most defiantly improve. As for the Vocals this is another story. The vocalist has not got a bad voice but at times he tries to grawl and his voice just is not cut out for it. In fact it really sounds like the poor guy is actually losing his lunch all over the microphone. If he would just stick to singing he would do just fine. To sum it all up this band needs a lot of work and they need to decide what direction they want to go in for the constant roaming in different directions does them no good. Over all sound on this CD sounds like it was recorded on a hand held boom box in the basement. Keep trying guys you will get there.
