Difficult, difficult… What shall I think about that here? Orchestral gothic dark is what the product information tells me about this rotating CD of the Southern Germans. Yes, DESPAIRATION try to be gothic – somehow
This human is not able to sing, but anyway this something is catching me. Is it the fascination of the unknown? No, it is the inconceivability that someone is singing that emotionless like Sascha Blach, who sometimes also copies (at least well) RIGHT SAID FRED´s Richard Fairbrass! This feeling doesn´t go away that this is just a project of a few people (music students??), who have wanted to have a bit fun and said: Let´s do something different, something really good, that nobody has the heart to do, no mainstream and also something that cannot be put in a special genre! This point goes out to you,
DESPAIRATION! The extraordinary thing is yours!
So: Anybody who wants to have an experience with the mixery of a marihuana trip, an impressing free jazz session and a breeze of heavy metal (the guitar solos of Martin F. Jungkunz are great!). Here you are, this way! Ah yes, somehow there is a little bit techno in it
J
Here is a thing for everyone: Scratching, violin, cello, bassoon, flute, trumpet
Yes, even the Australian Didgeridoo has its part in the scene!
This nearly 80 minute melancholic, sad concept album is the fourth CD of the Germans that partly unfortunately often is boring (particularly with the last songs like Zeitgeist and April mourning or also Nuit en enfer. Were you running out of drugs? Sorry
;-)).
I guess, I am not sad enough to understand the depths of gothic metal 😉
P. S.: No, actually I like gothic metal, as long as it IS gothic! J
note: 3/10
