Former Zao member releases debut on Golf!! The idea for Gods came to Jesse Smith while he was still touring and playing with the band he founded and played drums in for over eight years, Zao. He had been growing unhappy with writing and playing within the confines of the Metal and Hardcore box the band had been drawn into and they were expected to deliver the same thing with each new record they put out. In response, Gods was born. The band possesses the very essence of melody and combines it with a poprock sensibility, while still holding onto an air of dark and gothic flavor. Mixing heavy guitar riffs with atmospheric keyboards, they will definitely find a fan in anyone who loves Him, Muse, AFI, Eighteen Vision, Sisters Of Mercy, Joy Division & Life Of Agony
