faves: Strike down, I am the Persuader
Give it to them! That is what the Swedish power metalheads in Persuader think! With a mixture of Blind Guardian´s Hansi Kürsch and Iron Savior´s Piet Sielck, nothing can go wrong with Persuader´s singer Jens Carlsson. Great!
In the year 2003 the four won the Young Metal Gods Contest. From this point in time at the latest the guys got a crowd of fans. But back to that album:
Strike down is an absolutely great opener, which goes directly to the neck muscles. This song makes curious about what will be next
And it just goes ahead like the first song. This time a little bit more thrashy: Sanity soiled (this video can be found on Persuader´s homepage. It is a live video from Sweden Rock Festival 2004). Wow, that won´t stop with Masquerade (awesome guitar melody!) and Godfather (double bass!). Turn to dust is a bit too heavy for me, although it starts very well.
A little calmer, but with extremely high vocals (that doesn´t mean that I think, it is bad!), who seems to bet he border for Jens, Persuader play Passion/Pain.
I think, Raise hell could be a good live song. But To the end is a little bit different song with the piano part in the middle.
And with Fire at will the guys have a song that goes straight to your head. Emil Norberg, whose older brother Nils plays the lead guitar in Nocturnal Rites, shows his ability in that song.
Finally there is a song called Wipe out. But there is no speed left at all.
This CD is just a blast! Totally speedy and a gift for the heavy ear!
For the Japanese fans there is a spezial bonus track: the cover version of Domination of Pantera!
With Evolution Purgatory the Swedish people released their second album, which was recorded in Hamburg/Germany. Great production!
Persuader, go ahead like this!
