ROSAE CRUSIS „Worms of the Earth”
Another power metal band with a message from a past time, one has to really admit Rosae Crusis has balls enough to create music for an album that has more of a movie theme atmosphere if anything. Talk about a blast from the 80s metal era, with high screaming tones to the flashy guitar workings of Andrea Magini for whom is accomplished enough axe player whom gives an added flair this group.
MIND RIPPER „Kahos Humana”
If the groups name is more than enough for one person to misconstrue the type of musical vein Mind Ripper is, then think again. Residing from a country renowned for its language, food and culture these four Frenchmen lash out their dark aggressive natures with their freshman debut Kahos Humana.
ELYSIUM „Feedback”
Fast blaring force intro with the speed of light enters the first realm of musical existence with Elysiums title track World Hello Day. Melodically yet almost sinisterly blended guitar ripping chords, harsh sporadic vocals to the intensely filled power of the rhythm section Elysiums style of music boarders on the lines of extreme thrash with low frequencies of Death Metal.
DEINONYCHUS „Mournument”
Cool Songs: Plutos Ovoid Orbit, Ancient Dreams (Candlemass Cover), Selek From Menes
.
CRYSTAL BALL „Timewalker”
From the land of Celtic Frost and ahem, Krokus, comes the fifth full length from Switzerlands Crystal Ball. Entitled Timewalker, it arrives some two years after their Nuclear Blast debut Hellvetia.
TERRA NOVA „Escape”
TERRA NOVA from the wonderful Holland enrich us with their happy rock album called Escape. 12 hard rock numbers tie up to the debut album Living it up from 1996, the followers Break away (1997) and Make my day (1999), which could mostly succeed well in Japan.
DUSKFALL, THE „Lifetime Supply of Guilt”
The Duskfall are a new name to me. Their musical style most certainly isnt.
BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME „Alaska”
Cool Songs: All Bodies, Selkies: The Endless Obsession, Roboturner, The Primer, Autodidact
.
CANCER „Spirit In Flames”
After taking the best part of the last decade off, UK Death Metallers Cancer reunited (as is the current want of many long dead veterans metal acts) in 2004. They quickly signed to Englands Copro Records and put out a feeler EP entitled Corporation$.
ILL NINO „One Nation Underground”
For some strange reason, I was completely in another portal of the universe when Latino-Metallers Ill Nino hit with Confessions and their debut Revolution, Revolucion. Was that a good thing? Well, perhaps on the strength of their nu-flavoured third effort One Nation Underground, it may have been.
