Good songs: Lies, The edge of time pt. 1… When I think about that… I can´t pick ONE special song out, but those two I mentioned give a good view about what THE PAST ALIVE are about

I already had the pleasure to see the band from Heilbronn/Southern Germany live in concert. The more I was excited to hear the music how it will sound on CD
Already during the concert, the big Metallica affinity attracted attention that THE PAST ALIVE have. And as they in reality played a Metallica medley, I just had a grin on my lips hehe…
Well, okay, I already knew the things I was gonna hear immediately, at least a bit: The latest album of the quartet What you need. And really: THE PAST ALIVE sound unfortunately hm, unfortunately? Nope, not unfortunately, but mercifully, yes, mercifully, like good, old Metallica, BUT the good ones, let´s say Black-album times!! But I don´t want to tell you that THE PAST ALIVE are only Metallica clons, no. Because although vocalist Nik Gledic goes a lot in the James Hetfield direction and also the songs are pretty much Metallica style, you cannot dismiss that the guys know how to build up own, good songwriting. Nearly every song has got a lot of composery abilities that are transcripted very well. And so it comes that we have packed an album of 11 songs in compact 43 minutes: neckbreakers (for example Lies, Absolutely no doubt, Addicted, These solutions and Obscurity the both last mentioned songs are especially catchy, very, very bad! No way getting it out of the ears ;-)), a little calmer pieces (No choice), as well as a ballad (The edge of time pt. 1 creep!!!!!!!) as well as an instrumental track (The edge of time pt. 2)).
Furthermore I have to say, I really like the variability of the singer! His bandmates (consting of Michael Treffert on guitars, Jürgen Storz on bass guitar and Suat Gören behind the drums) also are good guys and so the team play their songs tight. Striking are also the guitar walls and the raw song framework. Best example for this is Now or never. Less is more sometimes
Like I said, mainly just killer songs! Well done, guys!
