“Soul Doctor” (2001)
“Systems Go Wild” (2002)
“For A Fistful Of Dollars” (2005)
After their self-titled debut album from 2001 and the follower of 2002 (Systems go wild), ch SOUL DOCTOR took some time to release their latest disc called For a fistful of dollars. Good things come to those who wait? We will see, if line up, management and label changes, as well as healed fractures and survived hospital inhabitation bring good things.
SOUL DOCTOR tend with their third album towards Aerosmith and Gotthard, however much bluesier and earthier and much groovier as well (for example Best way to fade with harmonica).
Singer Tommy Heart (Ex-Fair Warning) and his band members (guitarist Chris Lyne and the new guys bassist Jogy Rautenberg and drummer Mario B.) didn´t spoon up the innovation, but for those who love rock music with a shot of Southern rock (first of all in the track Where do we go): Here´s the right address.
Totally seen, SOUL DOCTOR try to change with the songs a bit: The first song Eatin´ on me grooves well, synthi brass instruments in She´s mine and typically rock´n roll with Give me a ride (the ride), as well as a little ballad called Cheap down ´n´ nasty, where Heart´s voice really shows to advantage and does not sound that inhumanly deformed like at the other songs.
The status for me:
I am sorry: absolute average!
note: 5/10
