Insomnium ready to forge their third album.

Finnish metallers Insomnium are about to invade the Fantom Studio in the beginning of April to record a new album. Some crystal clear and yet brutal sounds are to be expected since Phantom is the name behind some of the best albums ever produced in Finland.

The songs which are to be recorded include such dreary titles as “At the Gates of Sleep”, “The Mortal Share”, “Drawn to Black” and “The Killjoy”. The new material is clearly more aggressive, punchy and tighter than the previous album but the melancholic mood, wistful melodies, doomish passages and progressive twists are still present. “For sure this is going to be our greatest effort so far”, tells vocalist/bassist Niilo Sevänen. “This will be a very versatile album and each song will be full of nuances. There is fury and there is sorrow. Scandinavian melodic death metal at its finest!”

Insomnium's third album is released in autumn 2006 by Candlelight Records.
