New IHSAHN video

Mnemosyne Productions is pleased to announce that the first Ihsahn video ever will be launched at www.ihsahn.com on March 24th! The video is made for “Invocation”, the opening track of Ihsahn's forthcoming solo album, “The Adversary”.

The video is shot and produced in Notodden by a local production company. “I think the video reflects both the direct and solitary expression of the album. It was my intention to keep everything as pure and intense as possible, yet staying true to metal tradition”, Ihsahn comments.

The Adversary is the highly anticipated solo debut from former Emperor vocalist / lead guitarist Ihsahn.

Recorded at Symphonique Studios in Norway the album already has metal media worldwide clamoring for a listen.

“The music is a continuation of my work within the metal genre,” says Ihsahn. “It incorporates influential elements from all periods/stages of my background since I first picked up the guitar 20 years ago. Powerful, epic, extreme and straight from the heart.”

All music and lyrics for The Adversary have been written and meticulously performed by Ihsahn with exception of drums, performed by Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar, Spiral Architect). “He has been the perfect drummer for this album,” notes Ihsahn.

Forming in 1991, Emperor recordings have sold hundreds of thousands worldwide. Their impact on black/extreme metal ranks them as one of the genre's most influential. Candlelight Records recently confirmed four farewell American shows for Emperor which will be Ihsahn's first visit to the US since Emperor's only US tour in support of their third album, IX Equilibrium. The recent announcements followed confirmations of European shows that the band will also perform in 2006.
