The group will embark on a month long U.S. tour as direct support to Ill Nino early next month. The trek, which kicks off on May 9th and runs through early June, will also feature labelmates Eyes of Fire. GOD FORBID just wrapped up a highly successful, sold-out U.S. run with Children of Bodom this week, which led them immediately into a tour with Arch Enemy, Chimaira and Hate Eternal, which runs through May 6th. Be sure to pick up this months issue of Guitar World, that features blistering CD-Rom guitar lessons from Dallas and Doc Coyle that take fans through some of the most technical parts of IV: Constitution of Treason, their latest album.
The groups stunning, emotional video for the track To The Fallen Hero can also currently be viewed at AOLmusic.com, Music Choice On Demand, MySpace and Yahoo Music, or you can also check it out at the following location listed below. The epic clip, shot by the acclaimed director Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights), is the groups most ambitious concept yet and will easily catch your attention and set itself apart from the pack. mms://mp3.centurymedia.com/stream/godforbid/constitutionoftreason/godforbid_tothefallenhero.wmv
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in with the following tour report: Hey everybody, we just wrapped up our short but kick ass tour with Children of Bodom and Through The Eyes Of The Dead. After our huge tour with Trivium in the UK and this Bodom tour, were right in the middle of about four months straight on the road. Were pretty beat down, but its all in the name of rock n roll. We certainly thank everyone on the tour for their hospitality and for making us feel at home. Bodom certainly lived up to their reputation as the band who parties hard and never sleeps with their 300 bottles of liquor on the rider. A tasty beverage was never far away. Watching them play every night was humbling experience as well. The shred factor was through the roof, and having already been a fan its amazing how something so technical translates that well in the live setting. I will certainly be practicing a lot more and working on my sweeps and speed picking. It was great to meet and hang out with the Through The Eyes of the Dead guys. They are brutal as fuck and have plenty of talent. Make sure you show up early at Sounds of the Underground to check them out.
We recently joined up with the Jager tour featuring Arch Enemy, Chimaira and Hate Eternal. This is one of the best line-ups of the year, and we are ready to kick some ass on this one! Get your tickets fast, because this thing will sell out for sure. We go way back with Arch Enemy and Chimaira, so it feels good to be on tour with your friends. We also just confirmed another U.S. tour with our fellow New Jersey minority brothers in Ill Nino for May and June. Although weve been friends for quite some time, weve never toured together. Itll be cool for us to play in front of a different crowd, and well also be hitting up a lot of spots that we havent played since Constitution came out like Florida and Texas. Well probably take a well-deserved breather after Download Fest in the UK through the most of summer, but were currently working on U.S. and European tours for August and September. Take care and stay metal.
GOD FORBIDs critically acclaimed new album, IV: Constitution of Treason, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #119 in its first week of release, and it's the first time the group has ever appeared in the Top 200 charts. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album — a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world — further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly-respected bands in metal today.
