Synth Metal is qualification of your music – that is the connection Power Metal with classic music and electronic music You do not use the bass guitar supposedly? Did you replace it by the keyboard?
Dany All: Yes, we havent any bass player, but I play it by myself with a self-made keyboard called Keybass. I think this is a great way to improve the Synth Metal Sound: fast and loud metal supported by futuristic instruments. The evolution of the Heavy Power Metal: SYNTH METAL.
In the song “Synth Metal 001” you have use recently fashionable the vocal effect in style of CHER hahaha… But how do react orthodox heavy-metal funs for your music?
Fryderyk T: Probably many of them dont like it. But I think that if you listen to Synthphony 001 with care, you will understand that we are very Heavy, and perhaps we are more Defender than many other bands and so it is.
What do you think – the music of future is full of electronics and with a little quantity of traditional instruments?
Matkrakcer : It is possible, and probably we will change our idea of what it is a traditional instrument, but they wont be erase by electronic ones there will be an integration between them
Fryderyk T: In the future Music will use much more electro sounds than today, and also the Traditional music have to change a little in this way.
Creating your music do you have some boilerplate? Where do you get inspirations from??? Your music includes a lot of melody, melancholy, pathos and the whole is framed in sharp Power Metal binding obviously
Fryderyk T: Inspiration may be in everything and not only from the music. The Metal bands that inspired our sound are Rhapsody, Manowar, Slayer but we are also influenced by classical music. We want to create something new in the Metal scene, and so we cant do only what we heard from our inspiring band, but we work to evolve it, trying to make it the best as possible.
Dany All: Im a classical musician, I studied Piano and Composition at Music Conservatory but I like Electronic music, too. For me inspiration comes also from movies, especially Epic-Fantasy movie (Lord of the rings, Conan, The nightmare before Christmas) and Science-fiction (BladeRunner, Back to the Future, Dredd, Terminator) ah, I also like EVERY movie with Sylverster Stallone, my most liked actor ever!
I have to say you mentioned the classical titles But I think that lyrical side of SYNTHPHONIA SUPREMA is connected with subject area of heavy/power metal?
Dany All: Yes, of course. But I tried to create our own trademark also in the lyrics of Synthphony 001: brand new words like Fileader or ideas like Uncosmic justice appear many times in the album (to create a sort of Synth Metal concept) and will also return in Synthphony 002
When you listen to a song of ours, you have to say: Hey, thats a song by Synthphonia Suprema!
Well, “Synthphony 001” is the first part of trilogy and your first album However Ken Kelly – well-known from covers for MANOWAR and KISS – has projected the cover-art of “Synthphony 001″
Dany All: We searched for the right cover for the album, and so we thought that Ken Kelly was the best choice he is a myth!! He created the character He-Man, almost every Manowar covers probably hes the best epic designer ever! Then Matkracker put Kens image into a science-fiction theme, to stick together Epic and Future and so the first Synth Metal Cover was born.
You released “The Synth Metal 001 DVD MUSIC of VIDEO” – Can you feature the DVD?
Dany All: The Dvd contains: Synth Metal 001 videoclip, a music photogallery taken during the shots and the backstage. The videoclip is based on a story by E. A. Poe (The masque of the Red Death), but we transposed it from the past to the future and I think that is very Synth Metal style oriented!
You also have behind you the 2 demos – “Maiden of Tears” from 2000 year and “Synth Metal” from 2002 year. How do you judge these makings at present?
Matkracker: Well, Maiden of Tears was a very particular work. We were very young (16 / 17 years old) and we had a traditional band (with a Bass player and a second guitar Player). We played epic-power metal, with a lot of symphonic influences. But our music had already some strange solutions that led us to our second demo Synth Metal. This one gave birth to the sound you can hear in Synthphony 001. We played with the Keybass and the songs were the same that are now in the album… We play in this way from the early 2002: much time before other bands put electronic sounds in Power Metal.
Are some new compositions to part II of trilogy already? When can we expect the next album?
Fryderyk T: Its Work in progress. We have some new songs that sound very well and we also have some surprises… Nothing is planned about the release of the album, but it will be not before 2007.
Dany All: Synthphony 002 will be slower than 001, but not because we wont play fast songs: we have the fastest songs ever
In the summer of 2005 Synthphonia Suprema played on the prestige Competition Amnesty International “Voices for freedom” with the song “My War 001”, you was the first metal-band in the history of the competition, which got to final. How did the public accept you?
Matkracker: It was not easy to be accepted from that kind of audience, but weve been Synthphonia Suprema at 100%, we didnt change a thing of our music! They selected us because of the lyrics of the song My War 001, that talk about the Second World War and the Jewish persecution.
Who comes on your concerts?
Matkracker: Metal people! We are a True metal band, even if we use the Synths: yes, to understand Synthphonia Suprema, you must have an open wide musical vision of Heavy Metal we play with the Synths but we Play Metal, and so SYNTH METAL!
Fryderyk T: Metal people like our Heavy components, but also who dont listen to Metal listen to us because of the melodies and our show is for everyone!
Did you play beyond borders of Italy already?
Dany All: No, unfortunately we didnt, yet.
What are your the closest concert plans
Dany All: To give a great follow to Synthphony 001 and to play live a lot I think that we are much more Heavy on stage than on records, and so I would like that many people could see Synthphonia Suprema playing live to understand that Synth Metal is very loud and true, both on stage and in a recording studio.
What is your co-operation with Alkemist Fanatix?
Matkracker: Our co-operation with Alkemist started thanks to our label Rising Symphony. They work in a very professional way, and we are very happy to had join the team.
And with Rising Symphony?
Matkracker: Rising Symphony is a very young label. It was born by a partnership between 2 famous Italian labels: Rising Works and Underground Symphony. We sent a demo (Synth Metal) to Frank Andiver (RS producer) who supported bands with a strong personality and with a strong electronic sound: and then we signed, and start to work for Synthphony 001 We like RS because it has very professional people who cares about the artistic elements before the commercial ones: they are musician and friends.
Thanks! The last words belong to the team!!!
Dany All: If you want Music, Metal, Evolution and Art listen to our SYNTHPHONY 001. Well do the best we can to exhale you TOMORROW IS TODAY!
