After reviewing Benighted's last album, I requested their latest effort, “Identisick”, because I liked the previous one so much. There is some awesome brutal Death coming out of France these days and Benighted's new won't let you down. It's awesome. It's speedy, hard driving, drum kicking, screaming and growling Death. It's got good hard rhythms and melodies for fist pumping and headbanging, as well as blast beating galore.

“Nemesis” jumps right out at you, with a heavy ass rhythm and some good gurgling vox and then revs up the speed. It's fast and furious. “Collapse” starts out innocently with the laughter of infants and then blasts the roof off with some speedy drum kicking and pounding rhythm. A good headbanger. The titile track keeps up the speed with drum kicking fury and some awesome guitar leads behind a driving, pounding melody. This is some heavy ass shiiiiaaaat!! “Sex-Addicted” is a blast beating fury of Death also. “Mourning Affliction” slows it down and pounds a bit, but soon rattles the roof with drum kicking galore and brutality abound. “The Twins” and “Ransack The World” are just whirlwinds of brutality, fast and furious. “Blind To The World” mixes blast beating with good speedy rhythm and melodic pounding. “Spiritual Manslaughter” and “Iscarioth” finish off the brutal massacre in furious blast beating and screaming fashion along with some more heavy rhythmic melodies and speed.

By this point, I've already classified it as one of the best Death releases I've heard all year and then the clincher. It all ends with a furious cover of Napalm Death's “SufferThe Children” done double-time, just like Napalm does it live. It's freakin' awesome!!! This is a must get cd. Viva La French Death!!!!!
