Philadelphia: Candlelight Records today confirms October 3 as the US release date of MoRT, the eagerly anticipated new album from French extremists Blut Aus Nord. The album adds to the band's trilogy of albums and growing stateside sales and fanbase.
Introduced to US audiences via their early 2004 Candlelight debut The Work Which Transforms God and 2005 issue of their previously unavailable catalog Memoria Vestusta and Ultima Thulee, Brave Words Bloody Knuckles says, “Blut Aus Nord pushes the definition of music; disfigured, anti-social, pure, raw black metal… Eccentric.” Ultimate Metal calls The Work Which Transforms God, “grim, forward-thinking… probably one of the most amazing black metal albums of the last several years.”
With MoRT, Blut Aus Nord have crafted an album that is complex, haunting and sure to draw the band continued fan and media applause. A singular composition consisting of eight united chapters, MoRT contains the gruesome soundtrack that has quickly become the trios acclaimed hallmark. Nearly two years in the making, the album incorporates uniquely innovative guitar play (layering similar to early Emperor), a corrosive rhythm section and bitter vocals. Kerrang says it best when calling the bands music, “the sound of underground metal's black heart, twisted beyond all recognition.”
Formed in 1994, the faceless Blut Aus Nord have enjoyed a steadily increasing worldwide sales and fanbase. Metal Maniacs, Terrorizer, Kerrang, Decibel and many others commend the bands sinister sound, often likened to a metamorphis of Darkthrone, Neurosis and Godflesh.
