In my reviews, mostly I prefer to compare the old records to the new ones of the bands that I'm reviewing…but I'm not going to do that now with Falconer.
Falconer made us get use to hear some power folk music, Viking to be more specific. I 'm not really a huge fan of Falconer. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE Viking fan, but still not this kind that Falconer use to present.
This album of Falconer is really different. No more folk taste. Just the state of what's going around us. Perhaps this has changed, since there has been a little change in the line-up on this record? May be! And also since the vocals this time has taken part in writing the lyrics. Also May be!Playing and music? Is very good. Talents? Fair enough. Lyrics?…..I don't think so. Vocaling? Not really, except in few tracks, like “I refuse” and “Power”….but still,…not really! Instrumental? guitars are fast, drums are very good!
The style of the song is a bit drain. You are actually not that excited to listen to the other track after one is over.
I hope the band will change this style and go back to their own once more.
