When I first came across this band it was to review their latest release, “The Sickness Within”, which immediately became one of my favorites of 2005. Many reviwers agreed, but some said, although it was good, it wasn't as brutal as the 2004 release “Ballet Of The Brute”. Not as brutal? Shiiiiiat. I knew I had to check it out. “Sickness” was extremely brutal. No disappointment here. It's hard to say one is more brutal than the other, so lets just say they're equal. Some heavy, furious ,driving, screaming, stompin', bahhhhrutal Death/Thrash. I love it.
The cd is a furious whirlind, starting with a thrashy groove called “The Beginning And The End” which flies into “Deathtrip” and the relentless fury kicks in and never let's up. “Vermin” starts with a steady pounding and with a yeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh! Uhhhh! it pounds in to a furious assault of quicktime drums and seering guitars. The vocals are brutal Death for every song. The relentess attack contiues with “Downward To Nothing”, growling and pounding with lightning speed and a slower, but grudgingly heavy rhythm with “Only The Strongest “. “What I See I Despise” is more lightning fast fury and “Last Cut, Last Head” along with “Warhead” are some good headbanging, fist pumping Thrash. “Blankeyed” and “500 Dead People” pump out the speed to continue the slaughter and they finish the brutality off with a seering version of “Bark At The Moon” and a blistering “Caught In The Mosh” cover. F************K yeah!!!! An exhausting whirlwind of Death/Thrash brutality that will no doubt, spend alot of time in my cd player right next to “The Sickness Within”. I hear of a U.S. tour in early 2007. Can't wait for that!
