“Intra” is the third full length release from Norway's Ram-Zet. It combines Black Metal with Death and a bit of folk in the vein of Finntroll. There is opera like female vocals with heavy rhythms and Black Metal keys and all kinds of strings and things. Hard to pin them down in any one genre. It starts out super fast and heavy with “The Final Thrill” , being some screaming death mixed with cleaner female vox and fast blast beating. “Left Behind As Pieces” is some good speedy Death with a furious drum kicking rhythm. “Enchanted” is some heavy pounding behind a mix of soft clean vox and screaming death. Stays good and heavy for seven minutes plus before a slow interlude gives way to a speedy folk like song in “Peace”. Trades back and forth between folk and speedy death. The rest of the cd is pretty much the same, trading between stringed folk instrumentation and furious Black / Death Metal. It all ends with a nine minute plus rollercoaster of soft ballad mixed with heavy rhythmed, screaming death. Interesting mix of styles here. If you like a Finntroll type of folk Black Metal, then this is for you. It's heavy. It's soft. It's thrashy. It's folk. Opera -like and Death. Just too many ups and downs thrown together.
