90 PROOF

Today was a very special celebration by a very special band and an event that Tgod wouldn't miss for the world. If you look in all my profiles that contain a section for heroes, nestled in between Barney (Napalm Death), Tom,Kerry,Jeff and Dave (Slayer), Lemmy (Motorhead), Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly), you'll always see my Uncle Tommy listed. Actually, my biggest and truest hero out of them all. You've all seen my photos and read my articles and reviews and know Tgod to be one crazy motherf**ker. Well, my Uncle Tommy or uncle John, as I've always called him, has been and still is and always will be my single greatest role model and influence. Much of who I am today is a result of always wanting to be just like my uncle. I always wanted to be as cool as my uncle John. Always. Today is his sixty something birthday and his band, a band that has been jammin for three freakin' decades, The 90 Proof Band, threw a jammin' party at The Pattenberg House and it was an amazing evening of fun.

The 90 Proof band has been a local favorite forever around here. They're a cover band that plays Country Rock and Southern Rock with some Rock classics thrown in. Skynard, ZZ Top, Stones etc… They've been rockin' since I was a little tyke when they jammed on my porch, so 90 Proof has been a part of my life ever since I started rockin'….well since birth for Satan's sake!!!! My cousins Tommy and Lori also sing in the band. They play mostly benefits for charities such, as Toys For Tots and have raised thousands and thousands of dollars for people in need over the years. Over sixty and still beltin' the songs out, I enjoy watching my Uncle perform more than anybody and you know I've seen everybody. To me, he is still the coolest guy in my life and will be forever. He's still a crazy, partyin' motherf**ker and one of the most honored and respected people in this part of Jersey. All of my coolness, my love for music, my love for kids, my love for havin' fun and pretty much everything that is unique about Tgod comes from my love for my Uncle Tommy. Every Tgod fan that thinks I'm the shiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaattttt!!!!!!! has Tommy Lunger of the 90 Proof Band to thank for it. Happy Birthday Uncle John!! I can find no words to thank you for everything that you've given me in my life and all that you continue to give to me and everyone in our awesome family, as well as everyone in the communities that you help so much.
