THORNSPAWN – Interview with Guitarist Lord Necron

San Antonio, Texas' THORNSPAWN play raw, primitive, no-bullshit black metal. In the forefront of the USBM scene, Thornspawn proves you don't have to come from Norway to play vicious black metal. They are a name that I have heard thrown around for many years now. I did not give them much of a chance until I recently saw them play the Sacrifice the Nazarene Child Fest 7 in their hometown a few weeks back. Their performance and new CD “Sanctificed by Satan's Blood” (thanks for the disc Lord Necron) have made me a fan. THORNSPAWN guitarist, Lord Necron answered a few questions concerning the band to further educate me all the MC readers about this USBM kvlt band.

MACHINE HEAD „The Blackening”

I felt the need to weigh in regarding this record as I'm seeing many different webzines and media outlets singing high praises about “The Blackening”. Now please don't get me wrong here, I happen to really enjoy this record, but I do because I don't buy into the hype that this will be such an influential work of art and a turning point for (not only MACHINE HEAD) but metal in general.

REVEREND BIZARRE – Interview with bassist/vocalist Albert Witchfinder

Doom metal music has been a passion of mine since I first heard the dark bar chords of BLACK SABBATH. I didn’t realize there was a whole scene entirely devoted to this sound until I discovered CATHEDRAL. From then on I was hooked. I bought any doom band that I heard or read good things about. I’ve amassed a large collection of great doom albums by such bands as AVERNUS, CANDLEMASS, MY DYING BRIDE, ANATHEMA, SHROUD OF BEREAVEMENT, THE OBSESSED, MORGION, ORODRUIN and many others. Recently, I discovered a Finnish band called REVEREND BIZARRE. REVEREND BIZARRE truly grasps the concept of how to create dark, floor-rumbling heaving doom metal. Unfortunately not long after discovering this doom metal gem, the band is singing its swan song. The group's front man, Albert Witchfinder addressed a few questions about its forthcoming album and the band’s demise.
