This American band was formed in 1995 under the name of ELLIOT. The musicians changed the name shortly after forming the band, because some other guys were using the same band name. They decided to use old Greek ESO CHARIS, which means within or inside grace. Their music was influenced by Christianity. In 2000 they released their last album Setting Roots for the Winter and become silent.
Sometimes it is hard to understand, why do people forge their ideas and burn them on CDs and finally sell to others. This goes for ESO CHARIS as well. It is one of the most lacking in compactness albums Ive ever heard. This music is just sheer chaos and nothing else. Despite of some melodic elements, the whole has not got any particular style. The music is quasi thrash/death, but it cannot decide whether it should belong eventually. What is more, the whole tires the listener after a few minutes of listening. Those, who did not hear this album, should stay away from it, at least at the distance of 100 metres, if they do not want to hear the brown note. The riffs do not carry any particular sound, they just are and create some noise, incomprehensible. As if a little baby was hitting the guitar strings with its rattle. In this case, the music is original, but I truly doubt that musicians from ESO CHARIS were about 12 months old when they played those sounds.
The lack of style kills this music, there is no consistence nor permanence ion this album. There are some nicer elements, but they hardly ever happen and cannot fight with the chaotic rest. Just leave it. It is enough that the band died in a natural way.
