Claus Larsen, the Danish electro-master made a great comeback in 2005 after a break. In 2006 he came back with his side-project: KLUTAE. In the early 90s he launched this project under the name of KLUTE, but now he has changed the name in order to avoid any possible confusion with a drumnbass band with the same name.
I can guarantee that if you hear one or more songs from this album, you will not treat it indifferently. First of all, this industrial-metal-like production can annoy true metal fans. Especially with its rawness, huge dose of electronic sound and very poor usage of the guitar. But when the guitar strings are moved, the songs gain another meaning. They are completely different, sound oneiric. Everything is very psychedelic and the sound cruises on the border between a dream and the reality. Thus this is more psychological event, than musical. An event equipped with millions of ideas: pervert and vulgar, political and stereotype building. The music falls into the ear easily after the third song, because the first part of the album is definitely weaker the second. And from that moment the production sounds quite good. That speaker-like vocal creates a ghastly atmosphere. The cover of NEW ORDER Blue Monday still moves, even in such performance. Thanks to KLUTAE it gained more power and its message became stronger in todays context.
This album is worth listening to. Do not be a jackass, do not say that you only like true metal. This music will definitely change your point of view. And if it does not, you at least will give it a try.
