In March 2005 the band started their work and appeared as a newborn child of Italian metal scene. In the same year, they managed to release (all by themselves) a demo, Madness Stabs Your Mind which allowed them to play some gigs across Italy and deliver their music (a hybrid of modern metal, thrash and some nu-metal hints) to a broader public. Split From The Dark Side is their first production under Dualized.
To start with the music genre, I must admit, that this hybrid-like stuff sounds quite original, surely, I have never heard anything like this before. this originality expires after the first sounds and the music shows, that the band are still not aware of what do they actually want to play. It happens, that Italy is one of the biggest metal-junk yard in the world, and this album simply enforces that thesis. Coming back to the album, such genre is an uneasy nut to crack and will definitely create some kind of problem to all those, who like thrash. Not to mention the bands boring performance (the power is completely absent). The instruments sound very artificial, which annoys. It would be better to decide, which way should they take up: classical or more electronic like. The compositions are quite dull and stiff, have some power kicks but do not kick ass. Only Dust has got some more original melodic line, which is able to draw the listeners attention, although it is simply not enough, thus a very weak album.
Split From The Dark Side has got an interesting title, suggesting some similarities to PINK FLOYD, but after the first notes it is clear, that those two groups have nothing in common. Whereas the FLOYDS created something, which allowed us to visit the dark side, MARPLOTS sound as if they had got lost there and they did not know how to get out.
