Finnish folk/pagan metal band MOONSORROW will enter the studio in January to record a new mini-CD, entitled “Tulimyrsky” (Firestorm). The effort is tentatively scheduled for release on March 26, 2008 through Spinefarm Records. More information will be made available soon.
MOONSORROW has been confirmed for the Bloodstock Open Air festival, set to take place August 15-17, 2008 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire England. This will be the band's only UK festival appearance of 2008.
MOONSORROW released its latest album, “Viides Luku Hävitetty”, in North America in April via Unruly Sounds/The End Records. The CD 56 minutes of music comprised from two songs continues to place the group as one of the forerunners of the folk/viking metal scene due in part to their extensive use of folklore and pagan elements in their music and imagery.
Released in Europe in January, “Viides Luku – Hävitetty” entered the German national chart at position No. 72. The CD was recorded between May and August 2006 at Tico Tico and The Stable studios and was mixed by Ahti Kortelainen and Henri Sorvali. Mastering duties were handled by Mika Jussila.
