Cool songs: Inwastement, Shutdown, Heretic
The bands history started in 2000, but under a different name, they were called RAZOR and performed mainly live concerts. After some time of playing together, Dzik (one of the founding fathers) quit the band because of some personal reasons. In 2001 the musicians (Igor and Ludvig) changed the name of the band, and that is how MORT was born. In 2002 Simon joined the squad and they started working on new material, released in November 2003.
Rapid Development Of Elite starts moderately fast with heavy, although very common and simple guitar riffs. And actually this operation does not help the band to look and sound different, than others in the thrash underground. The level of technicality is quite high, everything is mixed and mastered perfectly, no pesky gremlins slid into the studio. Igors hoarse scream is just perfect for such dull and uninteresting music, where the stiff atmosphere dominates throughout the whole time. This prevents some childish joy to appear in the heart of the potential listener. Inwastement and Shutdown are little pearls here, which definitely differ from the rest, show, that MORT can put themselves to pieces and play some fantastic music, but the rest is just at a very low level, thus drags the attention to the cons.
This is only a good album, dominated by dullness and stiffness. Small amount of power also is a disadvantage. MORT will have to work on their heavy kick and power slides if they want to be visible on the metal scene.
