Cool songs: Men of Sorrow

AGANKAST history began in March 2005, when Rob Matthew alias Redhead, a former member of ATOMKRAFT had enough being involved in other people’s projects and eventually created his won band. He invited some known (to him well) musicians and that is how the band started to work. ‘Dance Of The Dead’ is their first full-length album.

With a slight note of regret I have to say, that AGANKAST disappointed me. The title sounds interesting and has some cool connotations (in terms of metal), which nicely seduce the soul. But the truth is rather unpleasant: the album is very boring and straightforward, AGANKAST are playing very simple and not demanding music. Very simple beats (on 2) just do not carry the potential power. The compositions are dull and thanks to the same riff used, sound less attractive. Only the solo from ‘Men of Sorrow’ deserves further attention: although it sounds as if someone else had recorded it, because how on this world the musicians who can create such a nice solo, play such uninteresting music?

The answer to this question is quite simple: they are still not ready to enter the official scene (at least were in 2005). The simple and undemanding music shows that they were rookies.
