In 2005 some guys involved earlier in the project called WITHERED decided to leave all that setbacks and record label fuzz behind, and make a fresh start, a new beginning. And that is how CLOSER was brought to life, a melodic death metal Swedish band, which has nothing to be ashamed of.
The material starts inconspicuously, heavily and it is really metallic. That raw riffs create a sort of garage-like-recorded atmosphere. But do not be misled, because this is only a delicate beginning and an underground prelude to the very upper-shelf music. The climate is once aggressive and mysterious, to suddenly change into confusion. This album is very moody, and I mean it. The compositions do not bore, even after 13485 times of being listened to. This is the effect of the team, working upon their style, which they achieved by massive riffs and astonishing drums. Simply one can feel the music, this pure sound of thirst for volume. There is no deeper philosophy in it, just sheer instinct which forces you to make it louder and louder, and bang your head!
CLOSER did a fantastic job, which everyone can admire by purchasing this short album. There is no doubt that they are now much closer to their aim.
