Multi-platinum rockers Nickelback have been nominated in the category of Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for If Everyone Cared from the seven-times platinum album All The Right Reasons, in company with Daughtry, Green Day, U2 and The White Stripes. Thrash pioneers Machine Head land their first-ever Grammy nomination for the track Aesthetics of Hate from 2007s critically acclaimed album The Blackening in the category of Best Metal Performance. Other nominees are As I Lay Dying, King Diamond, Shadows Fall and Slayer.
All proceeds from the digital single and video sales of If Everyone Cared between February 1 and July 31, 2007 were donated to charity, equally distributed between Amnesty International and International Childrens Awareness Canada. Over 800,000 digital singles and 25,000 digital videos were sold during the six-month period of the humanitarian campaign. The track also reached #1 on the Hot AC chart and Top 10 at Pop.
