The band was formed in 1999 an since that time managed to record five CDs, including a demo, an EP (which I hold in my hand) and three full-length albums. Diablito is an EP containing the material from the previous album, Fluid, and the material has been remixed. So nothing sounds exactly the same like on the original release. It is also important to mention, that the band have changed their name, and now they are called ANALOG MACHINE.
From the very beginning it is audible that old school of rock has been a place, where the musicians have studied. The songs are soaking wet of blues and that is cool. If you listen closer, you will find associations with DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN and even THE BUDGIE. Compositions like Pink Hole and Waiting to Happen are real body-movers: short, dynamic, and alive. Nice album, for rockers and not only.
18 SPEED TRANNY (or ANALOG MACHINE) deserve your attention, just to find out how the music sounded a couple of decades ago (if you did not have the chance to hear it). But this album is not a long distance runner, will definitely tire after two plays.
