Cool songs: Snake House, Formula for Freedom, Moments, Aluminium Sky
This Estonian giants started their work in 1993 and still are in great shape. They are the precursors of industrial heavy play in the Baltic arena. And i have to admit, that they are not lazy guys who grabbed Gods feet and keep on going in the same way as they started. They released eleven (!) albums and it is still a great pity, that the promotion guys work so badly, that not all of metal fans know about them.
Growing Apart presents an interesting mixture of music: from industrial to heavy metal, somewhere around thrash and death, with depressing dooming elements. First of all, the album is quite varied: the ideas are not abused, the doses of heaviness and sadness are of equal amount, slowness and aggression equal the speed and power. Everything is on its place. Furthermore, the complex structure of some tracks can sometimes confuse: at the first sound, they can be perceived as a pretty straightforward band Snake House, but when you listen for a second time, with pure mind, they will show a different face. An aggressive and powerful rage, which simply burst out of them. The richness of motifs made me enjoy the this rather depressing album, mysterious, heavy and gruesome sounds burst out of the speakers. That death-growl brings so much energy, that the atmosphere changes rapidly a great alternative.
This album will not conquer the world (with such promotion, definitely not), but will change the spectre of view, of anyone, who would listen to it. Those rusty compositions really have the power to move even a corpse.
