Cool songs: Get the Girl Straight, Lady Muck, House Rules
POWDER MONKEYS were formed in 1992, as a five-piece, and in this year they performed their first concert. Very soon, their rhythm guitarist left the band and they remained in this line up for some time. The band ended their existence in 2003, when the front-man, Tim Hemensley died from an overdose.
Lost City Blues is a genuine party music, for jumping, yelling and kicking everybody nearby. This bluesin rocknroll is a real power-injection. It is really fun, very rhythmic, melodic and extremely catchy – simply moves the body or in other words, the body moves itself, to the rhythms of this music. And it does not bother that the compositions are after one fashion, that after the third song everything starts to sound monotonously which gets on the nerve. The point is that, when you need some fun, just push play and listen. The atmosphere changes quickly and fun dominates the air.
So, forget about the similar songs, after one fashion, one motif and two riffs. Be prepared for a high voltage party. And it is a real pity, that we will not hear Tims voice again. Damn those drugs and everyone, who earns money on selling them.
